Punch-Out!!
is a video game series of boxing created by Nintendo's general manager Genyo Takeda, and his partner Makoto Wada. The first game was '' Punch-Out!!'' made in 1984 as an arcade unit, which was followed by a sequel '' Super Punch-Out!!'' (1984). The series was released on home consoles soon after, starting with '' Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!'' on the NES in 1987 and '' Super Punch-Out!!'' on the Super NES in 1994. A reboot of the series entitled '' Punch-Out!!'', was released in May 2009 on the Wii, along with a Club Nintendo exclusive WiiWare prequel '' Doc Louis's Punch-Out!!'' in October 2009. The series also had a spin-off called ''Arm Wrestling'', which was released only in North American arcades, and was Nintendo's last arcade game they independently developed and released. Super Punch-Out!!
is a boxing video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). It was released on September 14, 1994 in North America and again in the same region in 1996. It was released in Europe on January 26, 1995 for the same console and in Japan in 1998 for the Nintendo Power flash RAM cartridge series and the Super Famicom. The game is also included in the GameCube version of '' Fight Night Round 2'' as an extra game due to the inclusion of Little Mac in the game. The game was released for the Wii's Virtual Console in Europe on March 20, 2009, in North America on March 30, 2009, and in Japan on July 7, 2009. The game was also released on the New Nintendo 3DS eShop on May 5, 2016. Little Mac
is a fictional boxer and the main protagonist in Nintendo's '' Punch-Out!!'' series of video games. He first appeared in the Nintendo Entertainment System game '' Punch-Out!!''. He is the smallest and youngest of all the boxers in the games, being only 17 years old across all ''Punch-Out!!'' games. His signature attack is the "STAR Punch". His design was changed for the SNES ''Super Punch-Out!!'', but reverted to his original design in the Wii title. In the NES and Wii games, Little Mac is accompanied by Doc Louis, his trainer. originally titled is a 1987 boxing video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Part of the '' Punch-Out!!'' series, it is an adaptation of the arcade video games '' Punch-Out!!'' (1984) and ''Super Punch-Out!!'' (1984). Super Punch-Out!! (arcade Game)
is a 1984 arcade boxing game by Nintendo. As the sequel to the original ''Punch-Out!!'', it retains largely the same boxing gameplay format and digitized speech, while adding several new features and characters. Along with punching, blocking and dodging, players also have the ability to duck. The game also saves and displays the top three fastest knockout times, while the game's difficulty is increased. It introduces a number of new characters to the ''Punch-Out!!'' series, including Bear Hugger, Dragon Chan, Vodka Drunkenski (whose name was changed to Soda Popinski in later releases), Great Tiger, and Super Macho Man. Genyo Takeda
is a retired Japanese game designer and executive who worked for the video game company Nintendo. Takeda was formerly the general manager of Nintendo's Integrated Research & Development division, and was the co-representative director and "Technology Fellow" of the company until his retirement in 2017. He joined Nintendo in 1972, and was promoted to his best-known position when the Integrated Research & Development (IRD) division was founded in 1981. At IRD, he mostly worked on improving hardware for home consoles and handhelds, but sometimes developed video games. In software development, he is notable for creating the '' Punch-Out!!'' and ''StarTropics'' franchises. He also designed Nintendo's first arcade game, ''EVR Race'', in 1975. commonly abbreviated as Nintendo IRD, was a Japanese developments division that handled everything related to producing Nintendo's console hardware and associated peripherals.
