The Puerto Rico Manufacturers Association (PRMA) es, Asociación de Industriales de Puerto Rico is a private, non-profit, and voluntary trade association in Puerto Rico formed with the intent of joining the manufacturing and service industries of Puerto Rico in the same organization. The Association was established in 1928 before Operation Bootstrap and was the entity that suggested the creation of the Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company (PRIDCO). Guaynabo (, ) is a city, suburb of San Juan and municipality in the northern part of Puerto Rico, located in the northern coast of the island, north of Aguas Buenas, south of Cataño, east of Bayamón, and west of San Juan. Operation Bootstrap ( es, Operación Manos a la Obra) is the name given to a series of projects which transformed the economy of Puerto Rico into an industrial and developed one. The federal government of the United States together with what is known today as the Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company set forth a series of ambitious economical projects that evolved Puerto Rico into an industrial high-income territory. Bootstrap is still considered the economic model of Puerto Rico as the island has still not been able to evolve into a knowledge economy. Antonio Luis Ferré
Antonio Luis Ferré (born February 6, 1934) is the Chairman of the Board of the Ferré-Rangel business emporium which owns Puerto Rico's largest newspaper, ''El Nuevo Día'', as well as ''Primera Hora'' newspaper. Ferré is the son of former Governor of Puerto Rico, Don Luis A. Ferré, and Lorenza Ramírez de Arellano. His sister was writer and essayist Rosario Ferré. Ferré served as member of the Puerto Rico Civil Rights Commission in the 1960s, and managed his father's political campaigns.
