Pu'er City
Pu'er is a prefecture-level city in southern Yunnan Province, China. The urban administrative center of Pu'er is Simao District, which is also the former name of the prefecture-level city itself. A major downturn in the price of tea in 2007 caused severe economic distress in the area. The price of Pu'er has since recovered and Pu'er tea still contributes much to the income of the area. Etymology Nanzhao set a division called Bu'ri Jian () in 839 AD; this was the first time the region was integrated into the administrative system of a Chinese dynasty. In the Yuan dynasty, the central government changed the name to Pu'ri () in 1278. Finally in Ming dynasty, the name was changed to "Pu'er" () in 1384. The character of "er" () was changed to 洱 in Wanli Emperor period. The name "普洱" (Pu'er) has continued to be used to this day. Kunming Changshui International Airport is the primary airport serving Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province, China. The airport is located northeast of the city center in a graded mountainous area about above sea level. The airport opened at 08:00 (UTC+8) on 28 June 2012, replacing the old Kunming Wujiaba International Airport, which was later demolished. Changsha Huanghua International Airport is the airport serving Changsha, the capital of Hunan province, China, and the Greater Changsha Metropolitan Region comprising the nearby cities of Zhuzhou and Xiangtan. Dehong Mangshi Airport () is an airport serving Mangshi in Dehong, Yunnan Province, China. It was formerly called Mangshi Airport. History Mangshi Airport first opened in 1940 during Second Sino-Japanese War with a 1,900 meters runway. Some of P-40, C-46 and C-47 had landed here for military purpose. After 1945, the airport was deserted. In 1985, Dehong prefectural government suggested to reconstruct the airport. China central government agreed to the request in 1987. Chengdu Tianfu International Airport is one of two airports serving Chengdu, the capital of China's Sichuan province, the other one being Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU), and a major air hub. It includes airports that are being built or scheduled for construction, but excludes defunct airports and military air bases. There were 229 civil airports at the end of 2017, with a few dozen more under construction. This figure includes airports governed by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and it does not include the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau (or the area administered by Taiwan).
