Provinces Of Denmark
The provinces of Denmark ( da, Landsdele) are statistical divisions of Denmark, positioned between the administrative regions and municipalities. They are not administrative divisions, nor subject for any kind of political elections, but are mainly for statistical use. This is a list of the eleven Danish provinces and the regions they belong to. There are five regions (EU standard NUTS 2) and eleven provinces (EU standard NUTS 3). The provinces Copenhagen City and Copenhagen surroundings are largely build up areas, the same applies also for large parts of East Zealand and North Zealand. Although East Zealand (NUTS-3 level) belongs to healthcare Region Zealand (NUTS-2 level), in other respects (like public transport, road maintenance, metropolitan future planning, known as the Finger Plan in all versions since 1949, regional radio and television etc.) it belongs to the Metropolitan Area of Greater Copenhagen. Herlev Municipality
Herlev Kommune is a suburban municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in Region Hovedstaden on the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 12 km², and has a total population of 27,851 (1 April 2014). Its mayor is Thomas Gyldal Petersen, a member of the Social Democrats (''Socialdemokraterne'') political party. The former village Herlev is the largest settlement of the municipal and the site of the municipal council. Neighboring municipalities are Gladsaxe to the east and northeast, Furesø Municipality to the north, Ballerup to the west, Glostrup to the southwest, Rødovre to the south, and Copenhagen to the southeast. Halsnæs Municipality
Halsnæs Kommune is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in Region Hovedstaden ("Capital Region"). The municipality covers a total area (land and water) of 122.15 km² (2013), according to Municipal Key Figures (De Kommunale Nøgletal (www.noegletal.dk)), and has a total population of 31,420 (1 January 2021). The municipality also includes the island Hesselø. Up to 20 km2 of the total area is water, as part of the largest lake in Denmark, Arresø, lies within the municipality. Its name comes from ''Halsnæs'', the peninsula that forms the western part of the municipality. The municipality was created on 1 January 2007 as a merger of the former municipalities of Frederiksværk and Hundested. At first the merged municipality wore the hyphenated name Frederiksværk-Hundested, but it was changed to Halsnæs on 1 January 2008. Gribskov Municipality
Gribskov Kommune is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in Region Hovedstaden ("Capital Region"). The municipality covers an area of 278 km², and has a total population of 40,850 (1 April 2014). The municipality was created on 1 January 2007 as a merger of the former municipalities of Græsted-Gilleleje and Helsinge. Its mayor as of 1 January 2018 is Anders Gerner Frost, a member of the local Nytgribskov (''New Gribskov'') political party. Frederikssund Municipality
Frederikssund Kommune () is a municipality ( da, Commune (subnational entity), kommune) on the shores of Roskilde Fjord in the northern part of the island of Zealand (Denmark), Zealand (''Sjælland'') in eastern Denmark. On 1 January 2007, the municipality was enlarged to include the old Jægerspris, Slangerup, and Skibby municipalities. It now covers an area of 250 km² and has a population of 44,401 (1 January 2014). Fredensborg Kommune is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in Region Hovedstaden (Capital Region). The municipality covers an area of 112.13 km2 and has a total population of 39,551 (as of 1 April 2014). Allerød Municipality
Allerød Kommune is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') on the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in eastern Denmark. Vallensbæk Municipality
Vallensbæk Municipality is a municipality (Danish language, Danish: ''Municipalities of Denmark, kommune'') in the Capital Region of Denmark on Zealand. It is part of the Urban area of Copenhagen, Greater Copenhagen area and consist primarily of the suburb of Vallensbæk. It is one of the smallest municipalities in Denmark in terms of area. Vallensbæk Municipality borders the municipalities of Ishøj Municipality, Ishøj, Høje-Taastrup Municipality, Høje-Taastrup, Albertslund Municipality, Albertslund and Brøndby Municipality, Brøndby. Rødovre Municipality
Rødovre Kommune is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in Region Hovedstaden on the island of Zealand in eastern Denmark. Its mayor is Britt Jensen. She is a member of the Social Democrats (''Socialdemokraterne'') political party who hold a majority of seats in the council. History The municipality was created in 1901 when the parish of Rødovre was split from Brønshøj-Rødovre parish; the Brønshøj part was simultaneously annexed by the city of Copenhagen. The municipality reforms of 1970 and of 2007 both left the boundaries of Rødovre unchanged.
