Animal
Animals are multicellular, eukaryotic organisms in the Kingdom (biology), biological kingdom Animalia. With few exceptions, animals Heterotroph, consume organic material, Cellular respiration#Aerobic respiration, breathe oxygen, are Motility, able to move, can Sexual reproduction, reproduce sexually, and go through an ontogenetic stage in which their body consists of a hollow sphere of Cell (biology), cells, the blastula, during Embryogenesis, embryonic development. Over 1.5 million Extant taxon, living animal species have been Species description, described—of which around 1 million are Insecta, insects—but it has been estimated there are over 7 million animal species in total. Animals range in length from to . They have Ecology, complex interactions with each other and their environments, forming intricate food webs. The scientific study of animals is known as zoology. Most living animal species are in Bilateria, a clade whose members have a Symmetry in biology#Bilate ...

Prostoma Jenningsi
''Prostoma jenningsi'' is a species of ribbon worm known only from one site near Croston, Lancashire. It was described in 1971, and is believed to be the county's only endemic species. It grows up to long, with 4–6 black eyespots, and has a long eversible proboscis. Distribution The only site where ''P. jenningsi'' has been found is a former clay pit now used for recreational fishing between Bretherton and Croston in Chorley borough, Lancashire. It was discovered there in 1967, and described by Ray Gibson and Johnstone O. Young in 1971. It is thought to be the only species endemic to Lancashire. Prior to the discovery of ''P. jenningsi'', there had only been four reports of freshwater nemerteans in the British Isles, in the River Cherwell at Oxford, the River Cam at Cambridge, a tank in Regent's Park, London, and the Grand Canal at Clondalkin, County Dublin. Description ''Prostoma jenningsi'' is a slender worm, with an elliptical cross-section. Wh ...

''Prostoma graecense'' is a species of Nemertea in the family Prostomatidae. It was once called ''Emea rubrum''. It is closely related to ''Prostoma eilhardi''. The species is distributed all across the world. Characteristics Individuals in this species can reach up to a length of 5 cm. It is Hermaphrodite, hermaphroditic and has 2 or 3 pairs of eyes. Occurrence It is distributed all across the world. However the authenticity of this is hard to tell. It has been reported in the continents of Europe, Africa, Asia, South America, Australia, and North America. It has been reported in Japan, Russia, New Zealand, Kenya, Venezuela, Argentina, and Mexico. Genetic evidence indicates this species was introduced by Human, humans. It is the only known species of fresh water Nemertea in Australia. It is rarely found in the United States. But in the state of Connecticut it lives in freshwater habitats. Here it usually lives among algae, plants, or detritus. It is more numerous during ...

Journal Of Natural History
The ''Journal of Natural History'' is a scientific journal published by Taylor & Francis focusing on entomology and zoology. The journal was established in 1841 under the name ''Annals and Magazine of Natural History'' (''Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist.'') and obtained its current title in 1967. The journal was formed by the merger of the ''Magazine of Natural History'' (1828–1840) and the ''Annals of Natural History'' (1838–1840; previously the ''Magazine of Zoology and Botany'', 1836–1838) and '' Loudon and Charlesworth's Magazine of Natural History''. In September 1855, the ''Annals and Magazine of Natural History'' published "On the Law which has Regulated the Introduction of New Species", a paper which Alfred Russel Wallace had written while working in the state of Sarawak on the island of Borneo in February of that year.

Nemertea
Nemertea is a phylum of animals also known as ribbon worms or proboscis worms, consisting of 1300 known species. Most ribbon worms are very slim, usually only a few millimeters wide, although a few have relatively short but wide bodies. Many have patterns of yellow, orange, red and green coloration. The foregut, stomach and intestine run a little below the midline of the body, the anus is at the tip of the tail, and the mouth is under the front. A little above the gut is the rhynchocoel, a cavity which mostly runs above the midline and ends a little short of the rear of the body. All species have a proboscis which lies in the rhynchocoel when inactive but everts to emerge just above the mouth to capture the animal's prey with venom. A highly extensible muscle in the back of the rhynchocoel pulls the proboscis in when an attack ends. A few species with stubby bodies filter feed and have suckers at the front and back ends, with which they attach to a host. The brain is a rin ...
