Pritam Singh (Singaporean Politician)
Pritam Singh (born 2 August 1976) is a Singaporean politician, lawyer and author who has been serving as Leader of the Opposition since 2020 and Secretary-General of the Workers' Party since 2018. Singh has been the Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Eunos division of Aljunied GRC since 2011. Singh graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. In 1999, he won the Straits Steamship Prize for being the top undergraduate student in history and political science. He was later awarded the Chevening Scholarship for postgraduate studies at King's College London, where he completed a Master of Arts degree in war studies in 2004. Singh joined the Workers' Party and was elected to Parliament in the 2011 general election, and has retained his parliamentary seat in subsequent elections. Brig. Pritam Singh is an Indian Army Officer, born in Dina Village in Ferozpur, Punjab, India. He fought in the Battle of Singapore in 1942. After the war, he was promoted to Lt. Colonel. In 1947, he fought against Pakistan in Poonch. Army career As a young officer, Pritam Singh fought in the Battle of Singapore in 1942 and was wounded badly. He was imprisoned by the enemy, but escaped from the army camp, and after six months reached Manipur, India. Later, he was awarded the coveted Military Cross for his bravery. Lt Col Pritam Singh was promoted to the rank of Brigadier in December 1948. Ningthoujam Pritam Singh (born 1 April 1993) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a forward for I-League club TRAU. Career Sporting Clube de Goa In June 2011, Singh signed for Sporting Clube de Goa who were then in the I-League. Pritam Singh is an Indian politician who is a six-term Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Chakrata, Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly. A member of the Indian National Congress he has served as the Leader of Opposition (CLP Leader Uttarakhand) in the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly and has also served as the president of Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee (Uttarakhand PCC). He is a six-term Member of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly. Pritam Singh (19 November 1941 – 3 June 2020) was an Indian academic, educationist, advisor and management professor. In 2003, Singh was awarded Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award by the Government of India. Singh first served as the director of MDI-Gurgaon and then served as director of IIM-Lucknow from 1998 to 2003 and again at MDI-Gurgaon from 2003 to 2006. He also steered the International Management Institute (IMI) for three years until October 2014. Singh was chairman and member of several policy-making committees and bodies of the Government of India and private organizations. Giani Pritam Singh Dhillon
Giani Pritam Singh Dhillon was an Indian freedom fighter and Sikh missionary who, as a member of the Ghadar Party, was instrumental in the planning of the failed 1915 Ghadar conspiracy in the British Indian Army. Giani Pritam Singh Dhillon was a close friend of Gurbaksh Singh Dhillon, famous Sikh Indian independence movement leader and prominent member of the Indian National Army. He was also close associate of Subhas Chandra Bose. Pritam Singh is also remembered for reviving the same idea during World War II by seeking Japanese support in the establishment of what came to be the Indian National Army.
