Prisión Fatal (2017) was a professional wrestling major event, scripted and produced by the Mexico based International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) professional wrestling promotion. The event took on January 1, 2017, at "Arena Naucalpan" in Naucalpan, State of Mexico, IWRG's main venue. The show was also the IWRG 21st Anniversary Show, marking the creation of IWRG on January 1, 1996. It was the seventh time IWRG held a Prisión Fatal event, all of which featured the eponymous Prisión Fatal ( Spanish for "Deadly Prison") Steel cage match as the main event. In the Prisión Fatal match the last person remaining in the cage is forced to unmasked as per the match stipulation. For this version of the Prisión Fatal steel cage match IWRG booked Golden Magic, Imposible, Pirata Morgan Jr. and Relámpago, who all risked their wrestling mask. International Wrestling Revolution Group
International Wrestling Revolution Group (Grupo Internacional Revolución in Spanish; the Spanish name is used for the promotion while the English initials are used for the title governing body) is a Lucha Libre promotion based in Naucalpan, State of Mexico, Mexico. Founded in 1996 by Adolfo Moreno and since Moreno's death in late 2007 has been controlled by his sons Alfredo and Marco Moreno. IWRG has its own championships but like many Mexican promotions recognize champions from other promotions, occasionally allowing them to defend those titles on IWRG shows. In recent times the company has become a more direct competitor to Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) and Asistencia Asesoria y Administracion (AAA), acquiring a national television deal with TV Azteca and using a number of talent that have left CMLL or AAA to bolster their ranks and profile. Imposible (wrestler)
Fuerza Guerrera Nueva Generación (sometimes "Fuerza Guerrera NG") is a Mexican ''luchador enmascarado'', or masked professional wrestler currently working for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG). He worked under the ring name Imposible from his debut in 2008 until late in 2019 when he took the name "Fuerza Guerra Nueva Generación". He is not related to Fuerza Guerrera, but is officially allowed to use the name by his trainer. His real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. Imposible was trained for his professional wrestling career by Negro Navarro. Guerra de Sexos is a professional wrestling event produced annually by Lucha Libre promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG). The event was established in 2011 and is held in February. The concept of the show was that each main event match was to be contested as a Mixed Steel Cage Match, with male, female, ''Mini-Estrella'' and ''Exótico'' competitors in the match at the same time. The last person in the cage would be forced to either remove their wrestling mask, or if already unmask have their hair shaved off under the ''Lucha de Apuestas'', or bet match, rules. IWRG Guerra Del Golfo
Tetsuya Bushi, risked his mask twice in ''La Guerra del Golfo'' tournaments. Guerra del Golfo (Spanish for "Gulf War") is both the name of a major show series promoted by the Mexican ''Lucha Libre'', or professional wrestling promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) as well as the name of the tournament match that is the focal point of the show. The tournament consists of two first-round steel cage matches where the last person in the cage advances to the final match of the night. In the finals the two losers face off in a cage match where the loser of that match is either unmasked or forced to have their hair shaved off under ''Luchas de Apuestas'' rules. Lucha Libre
Lucha libre (, meaning "freestyle wrestling" or literally translated as "free fight") is the term used in Latin America for professional wrestling. Since its introduction to Mexico in the early 20th century, it has developed into a unique form of the genre, characterized by colorful masks, rapid sequences of holds and maneuvers, and "high-flying" maneuvers, some of which have been adopted in the United States, Japan, and elsewhere. Wrestling Promotion
A professional wrestling promotion is a company or business that regularly performs shows involving professional wrestling that has little relationship to the rules of the amateur olympic form. "Promotion" also describes a role which entails management, advertising and logistics of running a wrestling event (''see promoter''). Within the convention of the show, the company is a sports governing body which sanctions wrestling matches and gives authority to the championships and is responsible for maintaining the divisions and their rankings. The International Wrestling Revolution Group Anniversary Shows is an annual major ''lucha libre'' event produced and scripted by the Mexican International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG; sometimes referred to as ''Grupo Internacional Revolución'' in Mexico). The Universal Wrestling Association (UWA) was a Mexican ''Lucha Libre'' or professional wrestling promotion based in Naucalpan, Mexico State that operated from 1975 until 1995. The name of the actual promotion was Lucha Libre Internacional (LLI) ("International wrestling") but outside of Mexico it is generally referred to as the UWA as it was the name of the fictional international sanctioning body that in storyline terms oversaw all championships promoted by the UWA. In professional wrestling, the independent circuit or indie circuit is the collective noun, collective name of independent professional wrestling promotions which are smaller than major televised promotions.
