Princesa do Solimões Esporte Clube, commonly referred to as Princesa do Solimões, is a Brazilian professional club based in Manacapuru, Amazonas founded on 18 August 1971. It competes in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série D, the fourth tier of Brazilian football, as well as in the Campeonato Amazonense, the top flight of the Amazonas state football league. History The club was founded on 18 August 1971. Princesa do Solimões competed in the Série B in 1989, when they were eliminated in the First Stage of the competition. They won the Campeonato Amazonense for the first time in 2013. Campeonato Brasileiro Série D
The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D (English: Brazilian Championship Serie D) is the fourth division of the Brazilian football league system, and was announced by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on April 9, 2008. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was formed from the split of the Série C, keeping its best 20 clubs and playing double round robin as does the top three divisions. The Série D keeps the same format of the older Série C, but with participation limited to 40 clubs recognized by the state federation. In 2016 the Série D was expanded to 68 clubs, but in 2022 it will be reduced to 64 clubs. The Campeonato Amazonense, officially Campeonato Amazonense de Futebol Profissional, is the football championship for professional clubs of the state of Amazonas, Brazil. Format The 2021 Campeonato Amazonense is divided into two stages: First Stage *Standard round-robin, in which all teams play each other once. The worst two teams of the stage are relegated to the second division, while the other eight teams advance to the second stage. Second Stage *The best teams play a two-legged knockout stage, with the best placed team of the match having the second leg at home. The winner of the Finals is declared the champion. Manacapuru (''Munychapur'') is a municipality located in the Brazilian state of Amazonas. Population The population of Manacapuru was 98,502 (2020) and its area is 7,329 km². The city is one of the biggest in the state. It is located about upstream (west) from Manaus, at the point where the Manacapuru River flows into the Solimões River. Main sights The municipality contains about 19% of the Rio Negro Right Bank Environmental Protection Area, a sustainable use conservation unit that controls use of an area of Amazon rainforest along the Rio Negro above the junction with the Solimões River. The Brazilian football league system is a series of interconnected leagues for football clubs in Brazil. It consists of several independent pyramids, which are the national pyramid and the states pyramids. As these pyramids are independent, clubs usually compete in a state pyramid and a national pyramid. Both the national pyramid and the states pyramids consist of several levels. The best placed teams in the states championships as well as the best clubs ranked in by the CBF compete in the Copa do Brasil. 2013 Campeonato Amazonense
The 2013 Campeonato Amazonense de Futebol was the 97th season of Amazonas' top professional football league. The competition began on February 16, and ended on May 26. Princesa do Solimões won the championship by the first time, while Rio Negro and Tarumã were relegated. Format The tournament consists of a double round-robin format, in which all twelve teams play each other twice, with classification split in two stages. Each round counts as one stage. The four better-placed teams of each stage will face themselves in playoffs matches, and the first stage champion will face the second stage champion. If the same team win both stages, it will be considered the champion. The bottom two teams on overall classification will be relegated.
