Prince Street (TV Series)
''Prince Street'' was an American cop drama that aired only two episodes in March 1997 on NBC before being cancelled. The show premiered on a Thursday night, March 6, at 10pm ET (the time slot usually held at that time by ''ER'') and was going to air on Wednesday nights at 10pm ET in place of the NBC drama ''Law & Order'' for a few weeks in March and April. However, after the ratings for the show's second episode showed a very low audience, the show was quickly cancelled. ''Law & Order'' returned to its regular Wednesday night time slot three weeks later. Premise Based on the exploits of a real police unit in New York City formed in 1971 and operated secretly for twenty years. It was headquartered behind a print shop on Prince Street. These NYPD officers did not carry any badges, did not wear uniforms and constantly worked in disguise in order to break up some of the roughest criminal organizations in the city. Robert Stuart Nathan
Robert Stuart Nathan (born August 13, 1948), usually credited as Robert Nathan, is an American novelist, journalist, screenwriter, director, and television producer. Early life Nathan was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania and was raised in Clayton, Missouri. His father was a toy wholesaler and his mother an accountant. He graduated from Amherst College. He began his career in politics and print journalism, then joined the reporting staff of National Public Radio’s ''All Things Considered'', first as New York Bureau Chief and subsequently as White House Correspondent and occasional weekend anchor. Lawrence Monoson
Lawrence Monoson (born August 11, 1964) is a retired American film and television actor. Career Monoson's first film was the 1982 comedy ''The Last American Virgin'', in which he starred as Gary. Other well-known film roles include the 1984 horror movie '' Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter'' as Ted Cooper, and the 1985 drama ''Mask'' as Ben. For his role in the HBO television film ''And the Band Played On'', Monoson received a nomination as Best Supporting Actor in a Movie or Miniseries at the 1994 CableACE Awards. Roger Spottiswoode
John Roger Spottiswoode (born 5 January 1945) is a Canadian-British director, editor and writer of film and television. Early life He was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and was raised in Britain. His father Raymond Spottiswoode was a British film theoretician who worked at the National Film Board of Canada during the 1940s, directing such short films such as '' Wings of a Continent''. Career In the 1960s, Roger entered the British film industry as a trainee editor where he apprenticed under editor John Bloom. In the early 1970s Spottiswoode edited several films for Sam Peckinpah. He wanted to direct and Walter Hill advised him the best way in was to write a script. Hill and Spottiswoode collaborated on the scripts for ''48 Hours'' and the never-made ''The Last Gun''. Steven Martini
Steven Martini is a writer, actor, composer, editor, and singer/songwriter. His first break was as Cadet Alex J. Stone in ''Major Payne''. He and his brother Derick Martini wrote the films '' Smiling Fish and Goat on Fire'' and ''Lymelife''. Based on experiences from the Martinis' childhood, ''Lymelife'' won the FIPRESCI award at the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival, and premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. Prince Street (BMT Broadway Line)
The Prince Street station is a local station on the BMT Broadway Line of the New York City Subway. Located in SoHo, Manhattan, it is served by the R train at all times except late nights, the W train on weekdays, the N train during late nights and weekends, and the Q train during late nights. The station opened in 1917, had its platforms extended in the late 1960s, and was renovated in the late 1970s and in 2001. History Prince Street opened on September 4, 1917, as part of the first section of the BMT Broadway Line from Canal Street to 14th Street–Union Square. The city government took over the BMT's operations on June 1, 1940. In the late 1960s, New York City Transit extended the platforms for 10 car trains, and fixed the station's structure and the overall appearance. The station was overhauled in the late 1970s. Eric Ellis Overmyer (born September 25, 1951) is an American writer and producer. He has written and/or produced numerous TV shows, including '' St. Elsewhere'', '' Homicide: Life on the Street'', ''Law & Order'', ''The Wire'', ''New Amsterdam'', '' Bosch'', '' Treme'', and ''The Man in the High Castle''. Biography He graduated as a theater major from Reed College in 1973. He credits his time at the college for helping him find and claim his identity as a writer. Overmyer wrote for the NBC crime drama ''Homicide: Life on the Street'' from 1996 to 1999. He joined the crew as a writer for the fourth season.
