The Princely House of Thurn and Taxis (german: link=no, Fürstenhaus Thurn und Taxis ) is a family of German nobility that is part of the ''Briefadel''. It was a key player in the postal services in Europe during the 16th century, until the end of the Holy Roman Empire in 1806, and became well known as the owner of breweries and builder of many castles. The current head of the House is Albert, 12th Prince of Thurn and Taxis. The family is one of the wealthiest in Germany and has resided at St. Emmeram Castle in Regensburg since 1812. Heinrich Kreuzer
Heinrich Kreuzer (sometimes written as Kreutzer) (16 February 1819 – 26 October 1900) was a well-known Austrian Jewish opera singer. Life Kreuzer was born in Vienna and received his singing education at the Vienna Conservatory as well as from Giuseppe Ciccimarra. In 1835, he performed at the Theater am Kärntnertor in Vienna, 1836 in Laibach and further in Brünn, Frankfurt, Cologne and Mannheim. After two guest appearances in 1844 and 1847, he was engaged by the Vienna Court Opera as Principal Tenor on 19 May 1849 . He temporarily retired from singing on 31 March 1856 due to a vocal cord ailment, but returned to perform there from 1 April 1861 to 31 October 1866. In 1867, he took over the directorship of the Court Theatre in Coburg and in 1870 that of the municipal theatre in Koblenz. Siegmund Freiherr von Pranckh (5 December 1821, Altötting, Upper Bavaria – 8 May 1888, Munich), descendant of the ancient Austrian noble family Pranckh, originally residentiary in the former March and later Duchy of Styria, was a Bavarian general and Minister of War. Life Pranckh was born in upper Bavaria, as a son of a lieutenant colonel of the Bavarian Army. Pranckh joined the army in Munich in 1840, being in the cadet corps before, and in 1849 (having risen to captain) worked on the staff of the Generalquartiermeister. He remained in the War Department until 1863 before becoming Oberst of the 3rd Infantry Regiment; and then in 1865 of the Lifeguards Regiment. With the latter he#d serve in the Austro-Prussian War, participating in the Battle of Kissingen and the storming of Nüdlingen. A soubrette is a type of operatic soprano voice ''fach'', often cast as a female stock character in opera and theatre. The term arrived in English from Provençal via French, and means "conceited" or "coy". Theatre In theatre, a soubrette is a comedy character who is vain and girlish, mischievous, lighthearted, coquettish and gossipy—often a chambermaid or confidante of the ingénue. She often displays a flirtatious or even sexually aggressive nature. The soubrette appeared in commedia dell'arte scenarios, often in the role of Columbina, where the actress would provide the details of her behavior and dialogue. From there, she moved to the works of Molière, which were influenced by the Commedia; the role of Dorine in ''Tartuffe'' (1664) fits the description. Tribschen (also seen as ''Triebschen'') is a district of the city of Lucerne, in the Canton of Lucerne in central Switzerland. Tribschen is best known today as the home of the German composer Richard Wagner from 30 March 1866 to 22 April 1872. When Wagner was obliged to leave Munich in March 1866, he moved to a spacious villa in Tribschen on a headland projecting into Lake Lucerne. It was while he was living here that Wagner completed the score of ''Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg'', composed his "Emperor March" and the third act of ''Siegfried'', and began ''Götterdämmerung''.
