Prince Henry's Grammar School, Otley
Prince Henry's Grammar School ( Specialist Language College), also known as Prince Henry's or PHGS, is a secondary school and sixth form established in 1607 in the market town of Otley, West Yorkshire, England. The school teaches boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 18 and has around 1,400 pupils and 84 teachers. It retains a high position within regional league tables. In 2016 Prince Henry's had the third highest results for GCSEs in Leeds. Also in 2016 PHGS was the best state school in Leeds for A Level results. The school has repeatedly received a 'good' rating from Ofsted with outstanding features, however has in the past received criticism for the state of the old school building. Despite the name, Prince Henry's is now a state-funded academy school. History Origins The money for the school originally came from the will of Thomas Cave, a local cloth merchant, in 1603. Prince Henry's High School, formerly Prince Henry's Grammar School is an upper school with academy status in Evesham, Worcestershire, England. It is a co-educational high school, in which there are about 1,280 students enrolled, aged between 13 and 18. It is situated in the north of Evesham off the A4184, near the junction with the B4624, adjacent to the north of the railway, and serves the town of Evesham and surrounding villages. Prince Henry's Institute of Medical Research (PHI) was a Melbourne-based independent, not-for-profit, medical research institute based at the Monash Medical Centre in Victoria, Australia. In January 2014 it merged with the Monash Institute of Medical Research to become the Hudson Institute of Medical Research. Professor Bryan Hudson was the founding Director of Prince Henry’s Institute and founding Chair of the Department of Medicine at Monash University.
