Primera División De Fútbol De El Salvador
The ''Primera División'' of the (''Professional Football League''), more commonly known as ''La Liga Mayor'' or ''La Primera'', is the top professional association football, football league in El Salvador. It was established in 1969, and in 2011 had 10 clubs. Initially the league was run as a year-long tournament, but since 1998 there are two tournaments each year, much like in many other football leagues in the Americas. The Apertura season runs from August to December, while the Clausura season runs from February to July. Competition format La Liga Mayor follows the usual double Round-robin tournament, round-robin format. During the course of a given season (Apertura or Clausura), each club plays every other club twice, once at home and once away, for a total of 22 games. Teams receive three points for a win, one point for a draw, and no points for a loss. Quequeisque
Quequeisque was a professional football club in Nueva San Salvador, (Santa Tecla) which have played the Primera División de Fútbol Profesional. They are the only team in El Salvador besides Hércules in soccer history to win 5 or more straight championships ( Salvadoran football champions). Although the tournaments won were only in the Central Zone Region of El Salvador, they are often considered as national titles. History Quequeisque were founded in 1896, being one of the first football clubs founded in El Salvador. They got their name from the Quequeisque farm from Santa Tecla. Walter Soundy a notable person in Santa Tecla was the founder of the team, he was the owner of the Quequeisque farm. The Estadio Cuscatlán is a football stadium located in the city of San Salvador, El Salvador. It was inaugurated in 1976. It can hold 53,400 spectators, making it the stadium with the largest spectator capacity in Central America and the Caribbean. Alejandro de la Cruz Bentos (born May 3, 1978) is an Argentine retired footballer. Víctor Manuel Velásquez Molina (born April 12, 1976) is a retired Salvadoran football player. Club career Velásquez started his career at Dragón in 1996 and left them after five years for Salvadoran giants FAS with whom he won five league titles. After another five years he moved to Alianza, only to join Águila in 2008. He then had a one-year spell with Municipal Limeño and rejoined FAS for a final season before retiring. Williams Enrique Reyes Rodríguez (born October 30, 1976, in La Ceiba, Honduras) is a Honduran-born Salvadoran professional forward. Club career Reyes started his professional career at Deportes Savio, but crossed the Salvadoran border to play for Dragón in 2000. After only a year he moved on to FAS, with whom he would win 5 national league titles.
