Primera División De Fútbol De El Salvador
The ''Primera División'' of the (''Professional Football League''), more commonly known as ''La Liga Mayor'' or ''La Primera'', is the top professional association football, football league in El Salvador. It was established in 1969, and in 2011 had 10 clubs. Initially the league was run as a year-long tournament, but since 1998 there are two tournaments each year, much like in many other football leagues in the Americas. The Apertura season runs from August to December, while the Clausura season runs from February to July. Competition format La Liga Mayor follows the usual double Round-robin tournament, round-robin format. During the course of a given season (Apertura or Clausura), each club plays every other club twice, once at home and once away, for a total of 22 games. Teams receive three points for a win, one point for a draw, and no points for a loss. Jorge Humberto Rodríguez Alvárez (born 20 May 1971 in San Alejo, El Salvador) is a Salvadoran former professional footballer and currently manager. He was one of the mainstays of the El Salvador national football team during the second half of the 1990s. José Alexander Amaya del Cid (born January 4, 1975, in San Salvador, El Salvador) is a retired Salvadoran professional footballer. Club career Amaya started his professional career with Águila during the 1997–1998 season. He remained there until 1999. He was signed by former El Salvador manager Milovan Đorić's Chinese club side Beijing Guoan in 2000. He participated in both the Chinese First Division league and the Philip FA Cup 2000. After 2000, he returned to El Salvador winning the Clausura title with Águila. However a combination of poor form and injuries caused him to lose his spot in the Águila squad. Alfredo Pacheco
Alfredo Alberto Pacheco (December 1, 1982 – December 27, 2015) was a Salvadoran footballer who had the record for most appearances on the El Salvador national football team when he was banned for life in 2013, for match-fixing while playing for the national team. He was murdered on December 27, 2015. Career Club Pacheco spent the majority of his career with one of El Salvador's biggest clubs, FAS. After moving through the junior ranks and into the first team reserves, he was given his first chance to play in the Salvadoran Primera División in 2001. José Rafael Tobar Lemus (born 24 November 1975 in Turín) is a Salvadoran football player who plays as defender for Alacranes Del Norte of El Salvador. Club career Tobar started his career at hometown club Turín in the third division and joined Salvadoran second division side Huracán in 1992. After a short spell at Once Lobos he made his debut at the highest domestic level, the Primera División de Fútbol de El Salvador, with Luis Ángel Firpo in 1996 and in 1998 he won the league title with them. The Estadio Cuscatlán is a football stadium located in the city of San Salvador, El Salvador. It was inaugurated in 1976. It can hold 53,400 spectators, making it the stadium with the largest spectator capacity in Central America and the Caribbean. Juan Alexander Campos Hernández (born May 8, 1980) is a Salvadoran professional football player. Club career Águila Nicknamed ''El Murciélago'' (the Bat), Campos started his career at Tercera División club Los Andes, then had a spell at Jocoro, before making his Primera División debut for Águila in 2003. He immediately became the league top scorer with 13 goals in his first season.
