Primera División De Baloncesto
The Primera División de Baloncesto is the fifth level in the Spanish basketball league system. Current format The Primera División works similar to the Tercera División of Spanish football. It is divided into fourteen groups, corresponding to the Autonomous communities of Spain excepting two of the groups: one that is shared by Basque Country, La Rioja and Navarra. In Catalonia known as ''Copa Catalunya''. The best teams are promoted to Liga EBA, some of them without playing any promotion playoffs with other groups. In some Autonomous communities, the first qualified is considered the Regional amateur champion. Liga EBA
Liga Española de Baloncesto Aficionado (EBA), commonly known as Liga EBA, is a Spanish basketball championship that is the fourth tier level in the Spanish basketball league system, after the Liga ACB, LEB Oro, and LEB Plata. It is administered by the FEB. It was previously the Spanish second tier level competition from 1994 to 1996, the third tier level from 1996 to 2000, and the fifth tier level, from 2007 to 2009. The Liga EBA is made up of five inter-regional groups. After the regular season, sixteen teams advance to the playoffs, where only four teams are promoted to the LEB Plata. The lowest ranked teams of each group, are relegated to the Primera División. Fundación Club Baloncesto Granada, also known as Covirán Granada by sponsorship reasons, is a basketball team based in Granada, Andalusia, Spain that currently plays in Liga ACB. History The Fundación CBG was founded in 2006 as an entity associated to basketball club CB Granada, with the aim to promote basketball and other nonprofit activities in the province of Granada. In 2012, after the dissolution of CB Granada, the entity decided to create a senior basketball team that could replace the defunct club in the city. In its first season, the club promoted to Liga EBA after finishing as runner-up of the Andalusian group of Primera División de Baloncesto. Askatuak SBT
Askatuak Saki-Baloi Taldea is a basketball club based in San Sebastián, in the Basque Country of Spain, that plays in the Liga EBA. History The team competed for four years in the top Spanish league, one of them in the Liga ACB. They also played for the Korać Cup during two seasons. In 1993 Askatuak sold its 1ª División (second tier) spot to CB Salamanca. Years later, in 2001, the team resigned its berth in LEB Plata and was substituted as the first basketball team in San Sebastián by the new Gipuzkoa BC. Araberri BC
Araberri Basket Club, also known as Sáenz Horeca Araberri for sponsorship reasons, is a basketball team based in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain. History Founded in 1994. In June 2011, the team promoted to LEB Plata, where it won one Copa LEB Plata and promoted to LEB Oro as winner of the playoffs in 2016. Despite this achievement, on 23 July 2016 the club announced it could not fulfill the requirements in the league and folded the professional team, maintaining only the youth teams. However, one month later Araberri was allowed to participate in the league and the professional team was reinstated. On 18 July 2017, the club announced it could not fulfill the requirements in the league and it appealed against the decision of FEB. CB Alcúdia
Club Bàsquet Alcúdia is a professional basketball team based in Alcúdia, Balearic Islands that is not currently registered in any competition. In season 2007–08, the team played in LEB Oro. History CB Alcúdia played in balearic competitions until 2004-05, when they merge with CB Aracena and they play in LEB Plata with the name of Alcúdia-Aracena. Baloncesto Villa de Mieres 2012, also known as BVM2012, is a basketball team based in Mieres, Asturias, Spain, that currently plays in Primera División de Baloncesto. Oviedo Club Baloncesto, also known as Alimerka Oviedo Baloncesto for sponsorship reasons, is a professional basketball team based in Oviedo, Asturias, that plays in the Spanish LEB Oro league. Real Grupo de Cultura Covadonga is a Spanish basketball team based in Gijón, Asturias. It currently plays in Liga EBA. History In its first years, the club was quarterfinalist of the Copa del Rey (1949, 1950 and 1951).
