The president of the Ateneo de Manila University ( fil, Pangulo ng Pamantasang Ateneo de Manila Spanish: ''Presidente de Universidad Ateneo de Manila;'' Latin'': Praeside Universitas Athenaea Manilensis'') is the chief administrator and principal executive officer of the Ateneo de Manila University. The president is directly chosen by thuniversity's Board of Trustees Thirty people have held the office, in addition to several others who have held it in either an acting or interim capacity. In all cases where the president of the Ateneo de Manila University is unable to fulfill their duties, an appointed officer in charge (OIC) will become acting president. Roberto Yap
Roberto C. Yap, S.J. known as "Father Bobby", is a Filipino economist and Jesuit who currently serves as the 31st president of the Ateneo de Manila University. He assumed office on August 1, 2020 and succeeded Fr. Jose Ramon Villarin. Prior to this, he was president of Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan. Early life and education Fr. Bobby was born in Cebu, Philippines, on May 16, 1959. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics, cum laude, from the Ateneo de Manila University in 1980. Joaquin Bernas
Joaquin G. Bernas SJ (July 7, 1932 – March 6, 2021) was a Jesuit priest, lawyer, college professor and writer who was Dean Emeritus of the Ateneo de Manila Law School in Makati, Philippines. He was a member of the 1986 Constitutional Commission which drafted the 1987 Philippine Constitution. Bernas specialized in the Philippine Constitution and was an author of law books and articles. Education Bernas earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Latin, and Greek Classics and Master of Arts degree in Philosophy from Berchmans College in 1956 and 1957 respectively. Bienvenido F. Nebres (born March 15, 1940) is a Filipino scientist, mathematician, and a Jesuit priest who was the longest-serving university president of the Ateneo de Manila University. He succeeded Joaquin G. Bernas in 1993, and served as University President until 1 June 2011. He currently sits as a member of the board of trustees of Georgetown University, Regis University, the Asian Institute of Management (where he sits as Vice-Chair), and other colleges and universities in the Philippines.
