President Of Chongqing University
The office of the President of Chongqing University, currently held by Wang Shuxin, was created with the founding of Chongqing University in 1929 as the chief executive officer of the school. After the founding of the Communist State, each president is appointed by and is responsible to the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and the State Council, who is delegated the day-to-day running of the university. In reality, the university President reports to the Party Secretary in the university's Communist Party committee. Wang Shuxin
Wang Shuxin (; born September 1966) is a Chinese scientist who is a professor at Tianjin University, a former vice president of Tianjin University, and currently president of Chongqing University. Biography Wang was born in Xuanhua District, Xuanhua County (now Xuanhua District), Hebei, in September 1966. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Hebei University of Technology, and Master of Engineering and Doctor of Engineering degrees from the Tianjin University, all in mechanical manufacturing and automation. Starting in February 1990, Wang successively served as assistant (February 1990), lecturer (August 1992), associate professor (November 1994), full professor (November 1998), and doctoral supervisor (June 1999) of Tianjin University. Jiang Zejia (; November 1920 – 10 November 2013) was a Chinese electrical engineer and educator. Biography Jiang was born in November 1920 in Hankou, Hubei, with his ancestral home in Jingde County, Anhui. After the high school, he studied, then taught, at what is now Chongqing University. He went to study at McGill University in Canada in 1947. He returned to China in 1948 and that year joined the Department of Electrical Engineering faculty of Chongqing University, he was promoted to professor in 1951. Li Xiaohong (; born June 1959) is a Chinese engineer and educator, and the current President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE). He served as the president of Chongqing University from 2003 to 2010, and was appointed as the president of Wuhan University in 2010. In 2011, he was elected as a member of the CAE.
