Premendra Mazumder
Premendra Mazumder is a film -critic, -author, -curator, -consultant, -society-activist, -festival-organizer, and -festival-consultant. He has participated in several round-table discussions, conducted workshops, delivered lectures, and presented papers on various topics at national and international conferences. At the Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival in 2015, he spoke on the 'Politics of Film and Social Dynamics' and on 'Trends in South Asian Independent Cinema' He has conducted film workshops in Kabul, Afghanistan and Dushanbe, Tajikistan in 2019 He worked for the International Critics' Week Cannes (since 2006), Cairo International Film Critics Week (since its inception) and several other film festivals as consultant and advisor. He presented the Celebration Ceremony of 100 Years of Indian Cinema in Croatia (May 2013). ''The Week'' is an Indian news magazine founded in the year 1982 and published by The Malayala Manorama Co. Pvt. Ltd. The magazine is published from Kochi and is currently printed in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Kottayam. Federation of Film Societies of India (FFSI) is the umbrella body of film-screening societies in India. FFSI is currently a member of the International Federation of Film Society that has its Central Office in Paris. The international organisation is an associate member of UNESCO. Kara Film Festival
The Karachi International Film Festival, simply known as the Kara Film Festival (Urdu: ''کارا فلم فیسٹیول'' or ''کارا فلم'') was founded in 2001 by the KaraFilm Society, reportedly in response to the declining state of the Pakistani film industry. The film festival was held annually until 2009. The 8th Kara Film Festival was supposed to be held in 2010 but has since been delayed every year due to the socio-economic problems that Karachi was facing. The goal of the festival was to "promote an appreciation of the art and craft of filmmaking among a wide population as well as to encourage creativity and high standards among filmmakers".
