Prague (2006 Film)
''Prague'' ( da, Prag) is a 2006 Danish film written and directed by Ole Christian Madsen, starring Mads Mikkelsen, Stine Stengade and Jana Plodková. Plot Married couple Christoffer and Maja have travelled to Prague to collect and bring home the body of Christoffer's father for burial in Denmark. When they have checked into their hotel, Christoffer visits the hospital mortuary. Having been estranged from his father since childhood, he views the corpse dispassionately and leaves with a cardboard box containing pyjamas and other possessions including a mobile phone. To Cristoffer's surprise, the phone rings and he finds himself speaking to a lawyer who is handling the estate—and who later turns out to be the father's gay lover. Ole Christian Madsen
Ole Christian Madsen (born 18 June 1966) is a Danish film director and script writer. Among his most successful projects are the movies ''Flame & Citron'', '' Prag'', '' Angels in Fast Motion'' ( da. ''Nordkraft'') and the TV series ''Rejseholdet'' and '' Edderkoppen'' (''The Spider''). Madsen was a part of the "Golden Year" graduating from the Danish Film school as he graduated alongside Thomas Vinterberg and Per Fly. Madsen started his film career by directing film mini series and shorts but in 1997 directed his first movie '' Sinan's Wedding''. Shortly after, in 1999, his second film '' Pizza King'' was released. Both of his first two films deal with immigration in Denmark and were the first films to address the current debate Denmark faces with a new wave of immigration. Nordisk Film A/S (lit. "Nordic Film") is a Danish entertainment company established in 1906 in Copenhagen by filmmaker Ole Olsen. It is the fourth-oldest film studio in the world behind the Gaumont Film Company, Pathé, and Titanus, and the oldest studio to be continuously active.
