Posthuman (Harm's Way Album)
''Posthuman'' is the fourth studio album by the American hardcore band Harm's Way. The album was released on February 9, 2018 and marked the band's first release through Metal Blade Records. Vocalist James Pligge says the album is influenced to a smaller extent by Slipknot, but to a larger extent Triptykon and Machine Head. Harm's Way promoted the album with music videos for "Become a Machine" and "Last Man", and online streams of "Human Carrying Capacity" and "Call My Name". Critics generally gave ''Posthuman'' favorable reviews, with several reviewers noticing an increased emphasis on industrial metal and nu metal over previous releases. Harm's Way (band)
Harm's Way is an American straight edge hardcore punk band from Chicago, Illinois, formed in 2006. The band started as a side project, but ended up becoming a more serious and full-time band in their later years. Harm's Way has since released four studio albums: ''Reality Approaches'' (2009), ''Isolation'' (2011) and ''Rust'' (2015) and several EPs. On February 9, 2018, the band released their critically acclaimed Metal Blade Records debut, titled ''Posthuman''. Godflesh
Godflesh are an English industrial metal band from Birmingham. The group formed in 1982 under the title Fall of Because but did not release any complete music until 1988 when Justin Broadrick (guitar, vocals and programming) and G. C. Green ( bass) renamed the band and decided to use a drum machine for percussion. Melding heavy metal with industrial music and later with electronic music and dub, Godflesh's sound is widely regarded as a foundational influence on other industrial metal and post-metal acts and as significant to both experimental and extreme metal. Dream Pop
Dream pop (also typeset as dreampop) is a subgenre of alternative rock and neo-psychedelia that emphasizes atmosphere and sonic texture as much as pop melody. Common characteristics include breathy vocals, dense productions, and effects such as reverb, echo, tremolo, and chorus. It often overlaps with the related genre of shoegaze, and the two genre terms have at times been used interchangeably. The genre came into prominence in the 1980s through the work of groups such as Cocteau Twins and A.R. Kane. Deftones
Deftones is an American alternative metal band formed in Sacramento, California in 1988. They were formed by Chino Moreno (vocals, guitar), Stephen Carpenter (guitar), Abe Cunningham (drums), and Dominic Garcia (bass). During their first five years, the band's lineup changed several times, but stabilized in 1993 when Cunningham rejoined after his departure in 1990; by this time, Chi Cheng was bassist. The lineup remained stable for fifteen years, with the exception of keyboardist and turntablist Frank Delgado being added in 1999. Machine Head is an American heavy metal band from Oakland, California. The band was formed in 1991 by vocalist/rhythm guitarist Robb Flynn, who remains the only original member of the band.
