"Possession" is a song by Dutch-American electronic music duo Kuuro. Canadian record label Monstercat released it on May 19, 2017. The song was originally released as part of the compilation album ''Monstercat Uncaged Vol. 2'', released August 25, 2017. It was later featured as part of Monstercat's ''Best of 2017'' compilation album, released on December 18, 2017. Background and release Although the duo attempted to remain anonymous since the release of their debut single "Aamon", they decided to reveal themselves as Luke Shipstad, one half of electronic music duo Suspect 44, and Jordin Post, otherwise known as Juventa. Kuuro
Luke Shipstad, better known by his stage name Kuuro () (stylised in all caps), is an American DJ and electronic music producer. The Kuuro project was formerly a production duo that also included Dutch producer Jordin Post. They revealed themselves as the producers behind the name in May 2017 during an episode of Monstercat's ''Call of the Wild'' radio program. In April 2020, Jordin announced his departure from Kuuro to focus on a solo endeavor. Moombahton (, ) is an electronic dance music genre, derived from house music and reggaeton, that was created by American DJ and producer Dave Nada in Washington, D.C., in 2009. Nada coined the name as a portmanteau of "Moombah" (a track by Surinamese house DJ Chuckie and Dutch producer/DJ Silvio Ecomo) and reggaeton (itself a neologism combining reggae with the Spanish suffix ''-ton'', signifying big). Monstercat (formerly known as Monstercat Media) is a Canadian independent electronic music record label based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Founded in 2011 by Mike Darlington and Ari Paunonen, the label released music on a tri-weekly basis until 2018, when this was changed to four releases a week. Anonymity describes situations where the acting person's identity is unknown.
