''Portrait of a Lady Far Away'' (Persian: ''Sima-ye zani dar doordast'') is a 2005 film by the Iranian actor-director Ali Mosaffa. This was Mosaffa's directorial debut, and he also co-wrote the script with Safi Yazdanian. Homayun Payvar lensed the film, which starred Leila Hatami, Homayoun Ershadi and Zahra Hatami in the principal roles. The film was shortlisted for the Sutherland Trophy, awarded to the director of the most original first feature film screened at The Times BFI London Film Festival. Ali Mosaffa ( fa, علی مصفا , born December 1, 1966) is an Iranian actor and director. Life and career Mosaffa was born in Tehran, Iran. His father, Mozaher Mosaffa (born in Tafresh), was a Persian poet and professor of Persian literature at the University of Tehran. Mosaffa's mother, Amir Banoo Karimi, is also a leading scholar and professor of Persian literature at the University of Tehran and the eldest daughter of the Persian poet, Seyed Karim Amiri Firuzkuhi. As a child, Mosaffa discovered his interest in story writing and English, contributing to his fluency in the language. He is a graduate of Civil engineering from the University of Tehran where he showed an interest in acting; making his debut in the 1991 film, Omid. Nasir-ud-Din Muhammad ( fa, ) (; 6 March 1508 – 27 January 1556), better known by his regnal name, Humāyūn; (), was the second emperor of the Mughal Empire, who ruled over territory in what is now Eastern Afghanistan, Pakistan, Northern India, and Bangladesh from 1530 to 1540 and again from 1555 to 1556. Like his father, Babur, he lost his empire early but regained it with the aid of the Safavid dynasty of Persia, with additional territory. At the time of his death in 1556, the Mughal Empire spanned almost one million square kilometres. Leila Hatami
Leila Hatami ( fa, لیلا حاتمی; born October 1, 1972) is an Iranian actress. She has received numerous accolades, including a Silver Bear, two Crystal Simorghs, two Hafez Awards, two Iran Cinema Celebration Awards and three Iran's Film Critics and Writers Association Awards. In 2012, the Government of France has awarded her the Legion of Honour. Early life Hatami was born in Tehran. She is the daughter of influential Iranian director Ali Hatami and actress Zari Khoshkam. Homayoun Ershadi (also spelled Homayon Ershadi, fa, همایون ارشادی ; born March 26, 1947) is an Iranian actor, known for his debut role in '' Taste of Cherry'' (1997), and several Iranian and other films since then, including Hollywood movies ''The Kite Runner'' and ''Zero Dark Thirty''. Biography Ershadi studied architecture in Italy, graduating in 1970 and worked as an architect for many years. He was discovered as an actor by acclaimed Iranian New Wave film director, Abbas Kiarostami.
