The Porsche Sprint Challenge Middle East is the Middle East motor racing series based on the famous Porsche 911 GT3 Cup launched in 2009. Due to summer temperatures in the Middle East, the races are held in the winter to have regular temperatures for cars, tires, teams and drivers. Each season starts at the end of a year (in November) and finishes (in March) the next year. Leon Köhler (born 7 August 1999) is a German racing driver who currently competes in the Nürburgring Endurance Series for Car Collection Motorsport. Career Karting Köhler started karting in 2007. In 2017 he became champion in the KZ2-class of the ADAC Kart Masters and the CIK-FIA Karting European Championship. Formula 4 In 2018 he made his single-seater debut in the Formula 4 UAE Championship where he won on debut. He won two of the three races he contested. Afterwards he joined Mücke Motorsport in the ADAC Formula 4 Championship. Lechner Racing, formerly known as Walter Lechner Racing is an auto racing team based in Austria. It is also known as the Lechner Racing School. Lechner Racing has established the Porsche Sprint Challenge Middle East and organizes the series as a subcontractor of Porsche AG. History Sports car racing Walter Lechner Racing competed in the Interserie in the 1990s and developed their own car in conjunction with Reynard Motorsport, the Lechner Spyder SC91. Since then, the team has actively competed in the Porsche Supercup series since 2003. They won their first Teams' Championship title in 2005 and two more followed in 2007 and 2008. Zaid Ashkanani (born 24 May 1994) is a Kuwaiti racing driver. Career Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East Ashkanani began racing in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East in 2012 and already in his first year he managed to get on the podium. Ryan Cullen (born 26 March 1991) is an Irish racing driver currently competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship for Vector Sport. Career Cullen first drove in the British Formula Ford in 2012 as a novice driver which means a driver has no race experience as stated in the MSA regulations, placing sixth overall in the standings and obtaining three podium positions, impressing a number of people on his first season of racing. Al Faisal Al Zubair (born 17 April 1998) is an Omani racing driver. Career In 2015, Al-Faisal Al-Zubair competed in the international field of the BRDC British Formula 4 racing, where he collected one podium finish and was placed fourth overall in the Autumn Trophy.
