This slogan (without stuttering) had also been used by both Bosko and Buddy (Looney Tunes), Buddy and even Beans (Looney Tunes), Beans at the end of Looney Tunes cartoons. Daffy Duck
Daffy Duck is an animated cartoon character created by animators Tex Avery and Bob Clampett for Leon Schlesinger Productions. Styled as an anthropomorphic black duck, he has appeared in cartoon series such as ''Looney Tunes'' and '' Merrie Melodies'', in which he is usually depicted as a foil for either Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig or Speedy Gonzales. He was one of the first of the new " screwball" characters that emerged in the late 1930s to replace traditional everyman characters who were more popular earlier in the decade, such as Mickey Mouse, Porky Pig, and Popeye. Daffy starred in 130 shorts in the golden age, making him the third-most frequent character in the ''Looney Tunes''/''Merrie Melodies'' cartoons, behind Bugs Bunny's 167 appearances and Porky Pig's 153 appearances. Virtually every Warner Bros. cartoon director, most notably Bob Clampett, Robert McKimson, and Chuck Jones, put his own spin on the Daffy Duck character. Petunia Pig
Petunia Pig is an animated cartoon character in the ''Looney Tunes'' and ''Merrie Melodies'' series of cartoons from Warner Bros. She looks much like her significant other, Porky Pig, except that she wears a dress and has pigtailed black hair. Biography Petunia was introduced by animator Frank Tashlin in the 1937 short '' Porky's Romance''. The film is arguably a parody of '' Mickey's Nightmare'', a 1932 Walt Disney cartoon; whereas Mickey Mouse dreams of a marriage made difficult by dozens of annoying kids, Porky's nightmare-marriage also involves a scornful Petunia treating him badly. Tashlin adopted Petunia as a regular member of Porky's entourage and featured her in two more cartoons: '' The Case of the Stuttering Pig'' and '' Porky's Double Trouble'', both in 1937. Bob Clampett was the only other Warner director to utilize Petunia after Tashlin left the studio in 1938. He first featured her in '' Porky's Picnic'', a 1939 film that sees Porky tormented by his nephew Pinkie. Pi ... Joe Dougherty
Joseph Tapley Dougherty (November 4, 1898 – April 19, 1978) was an American actor, who provided the original voice of the Warner Bros. animation character, Porky Pig, starting with the character's debut in '' I Haven't Got a Hat'' in 1935 through '' Porky's Romance'' in 1937. Treg Brown changed his voice for Porky. Due to Dougherty's stutter, Count Cutelli was brought for additional lines due to the length of the audio and budgetary issues. After that, Mel Blanc took over the role and voiced Porky for 52 years. Dougherty spoke with a natural stutter that became one of the character's trademarks; Dougherty's inability to control his stutter was a factor in the part being recast. According to Friz Freleng, the director of ''I Haven't Got a Hat'', Dougherty would get nervous every time they said cut. Freleng also called the casting for someone who stuttered and they landed on Dougherty. Early life and career Dougherty was born in Missouri. Before becoming an actor, Dougherty atte ...
