Pop'n Pop
is a puzzle video game released in arcades by Taito in February 1998. It features characters from Taito games ''Rainbow Islands'', '' Kiki Kaikai'', '' Don Doko Don,'' and ''The NewZealand Story'', The game was ported to the PlayStation and Game Boy Color. The Game Boy Color version was also released in North America with Yogi Bear characters, under the title ''Yogi Bear: Great Balloon Blast''. Gameplay Gameplay is a hybrid of ''Puzzle Bobble,'' ''Arkanoid,'' and ''Space Invaders''. Rows of coloured balloons advance down the screen, and the player must shoot their own balloons at them. When three balloons of the same colour match up, they disappear. Ports The game was released in Japan and Europe for the PlayStation and Game Boy Color. Taito
is a Japanese company that specializes in video games, toys, arcade cabinets and game centers, based in Shinjuku, Tokyo. The company was founded by Michael Kogan in 1953 as the importing vodka, vending machines and jukeboxes into Japan. It began production of video games in 1973. Puzzle Bobble
internationally known as ''Bust-a-Move'', is a 1994 tile-matching puzzle arcade game developed and published by Taito. It is based on the 1986 arcade game ''Bubble Bobble'', featuring characters and themes from that game. Its characteristically cute Japanese animation and music, along with its play mechanics and level designs, made it successful as an arcade title and spawned several sequels and ports to home gaming systems. Gameplay At the start of each round, the rectangular playing arena contains a prearranged pattern of colored "bubbles". At the bottom of the screen, the player controls a device called a "pointer", which aims and fires bubbles up the screen. ''Balloon Pop'', known in Europe as ''Pop!'' and in Japan as , is a video game developed by Japanese studio Dreams and released for the Wii in North America on October 23, 2007. It is the first puzzle strategy game released for the Wii. The objective of the game is to pop balloons using the Wii Remote. There are various modes including Story Mode, Puzzle Mode, and VS CPU mode. Balloon Pop can support up to two players. The Nintendo DS version of the game was released on October 23, 2009. Bubble Bobble
is a 1986 platform video game, platform arcade game developed and published by Taito. It was distributed in the United States by Romstar, and in Europe by Electrocoin. Players control Bub and Bob, two dragons that set out to save their girlfriends from a world known as the Cave of Monsters. In each level, Bub and Bob must defeat each enemy present by trapping them in bubbles and popping, who turn into bonus items when they hit the ground. There are 100 levels total, each becoming progressively more difficult. ''Bubble Bobble'' was designed by Fukio "MTJ" Mitsuji. When he joined Taito in 1986, he felt that Taito's game output was of mediocre quality. In response, he decided to make a game that was fun to play and could rejuvenate the company's presence in the industry. Starring the hippopotamus Hipopo, players travel through the land of Woody-Lake throwing water bombs, jumping on and off platforms to navigate level obstacles while dodging and defeating monsters in order to rescue Tamasun from her captor, the Fire Demon.
