Pont De L'Alma (Paris RER)
Pont de l'Alma is a railway station in Paris, France, on RER C, Line C of the Île-de-France's suburban rail system, the Réseau Express Régional (RER). First opened in 1900, the station is in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. Alma – Marceau (Paris Métro), Alma – Marceau on Paris Métro Line 9 is located on the other side of the Pont de l'Alma. The Musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac is located near the station. This station was closed 25 July 2017 for renovation. Its reopening was delayed for August 2017, then end-2017, then end-2018, then 25 August 2019. It finally reopened on 15 September 2019. Réseau Express Régional
The Réseau Express Régional ( en, Regional Express Network), commonly abbreviated RER (), is a hybrid commuter rail and rapid transit system serving Paris and its ÃŽle-de-France, suburbs. It acts as a combined city-centre underground rail system and suburbs-to-city-centre commuter rail. In the city centre it acts much like the Paris Métro, though faster, having fewer stops. This has made it a model for proposals to improve transit within other cities. The network consists of five lines: RER A, A, RER B, B, RER C, C, RER D, D and RER E, E. The network has 257 stations and has interchanges with the Paris Métro, Métro and Transilien, commuter rail within the City of Paris and the suburbs. The lines are identified by letters to avoid confusion with the Métro lines, which are identified by numbers. RATP Bus Network
The RATP bus network covers the entire territory of the city of Paris and the vast majority of its near suburbs. Operated by the Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens (RATP), this constitutes a dense bus network complementary to other public transport networks, all organized and financed by Île-de-France Mobilités. RER C
RER C is one of the five lines in the Réseau Express Régional (English: Regional Express Network), a hybrid commuter rail and rapid transit system serving Paris, France and its suburbs. The line crosses the region from north to south. The line runs from the northern termini Pontoise (C1), Versailles-Château-Rive-Gauche (C5) and Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (C7) to the southern termini Massy-Palaiseau (C2), Dourdan-la-Forêt (C4), Saint-Martin d'Étampes (C6) and Versailles-Chantiers (C8). The RER C line is the second-longest in the network, created from an amalgamation and renovation of several old SNCF commuter lines unlike RER A and B which had newer sections owned and constructed by RATP. Paris Métro Line 9
Paris Métro Line 9 is one of 16 lines of the Paris Métro. The line links Pont de Sèvres in Boulogne in the west with Mairie de Montreuil in the east via the city center of Paris, creating a parabola type shape to its route. It is the third busiest line on the network. Line 9 interchanges with all of the 13 other main Métro lines, except for one ( Line 12), not including 3bis and 7bis according to the RATP maps. The Pont de l'Alma ( en, Alma Bridge) is a road bridge in Paris, France, across the Seine. It was named to commemorate the Battle of Alma during the Crimean War, in which the Ottoman-Franco-British alliance achieved victory over the Russian army, on 20 September 1854. The bridge is also known for being the site of a car crash that caused the death of Diana, Princess of Wales and Dodi Fayed. History Construction Construction of an arch bridge took place between 1854 and 1856. It was designed by Paul-Martin Gallocher de Lagalisserie and was inaugurated by Napoleon III on 2 April 1856.
