Polly Perkins
Polly Perkins (born Gillian Nessie Arnold, 31 May 1943) is a British actress, singer and writer. Perkins rose to fame in the 1960s as a popstar, going on to regularly appear in theatre and cabaret throughout the UK. She is known for playing Rose Cotton, the half-sister of Dot Cotton (June Brown), in the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'' between 2011 and 2012. Early and personal life Perkins was born Gillian Nessie Arnold to theatrical parents Dickie and Mitzi, who both had a successful career performing a cabaret/vaudeville act. Dickie's second wife, Dottie Arnold, was also a successful variety performer. Perkins has two children, singer songwriter Tim Arnold and film producer/director Toby Tobias. In 1985, Perkins moved to Spain. Career Perkins started her career performing at the Windmill Theatre in Soho, when still in her teens, she first appeared nude aged 15. Bill Perkins (Australian Rules Footballer)
William Albert Henry Perkins, or 'Polly' as he was affectionately known, was an Australian rules footballer who was a member of Richmond Football Club's 1943 premiership side. Born in England, Perkins was recruited from Dandenong District Association club Noble Park and made his senior Victorian Football League (VFL) debut in 1940. Playing as a defender, Perkins also represented Victoria in interstate football and retired after the 1949 VFL season. ''Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow'', often shortened to ''Sky Captain'', is a 2004 science fiction action- adventure film written and directed by Kerry Conran in his directorial debut, and produced by Jon Avnet, Sadie Frost, Jude Law and Marsha Oglesby. Loftus Perkins (8 May 1834 – 27 April 1891) was an English engineer, particularly involved in developing the practical technologies of central heating and refrigeration. Life He was born in London, the son of Angier March Perkins and was likely apprenticed to his father. His grandfather, Jacob Perkins, had arrived in England from New England and the family still had many contacts in the U.S. so, in 1853-4 Loftus worked in America.
