The Point Pleasant Micropolitan Statistical Area, as defined by the United States Census Bureau, is an area consisting of two counties – one in West Virginia and one in Ohio – anchored by the city of Point Pleasant, West Virginia. As of the 2000 census, the Point Pleasant MSA had a population of 57,026 (though a July 1, 2009 estimate placed the population at 56,252). Bidwell is a small unincorporated community in northwestern Springfield Township, Gallia County, Ohio, United States, and is often associated with the nearby community of Porter.
