''Poetenes Evangelium'' is the debut solo album by Norwegian singer Morten Harket, released in 1993 on the label Kirkelig Kulturverksted. Review The title translates into ''The gospel according to poets'' and was a follow-up from a book anthology of classical 20th century Norwegian poetry depicting the life and death of Christ. All 12 tracks are unedited poetry written by Norwegian authors Jens Bjørneboe, Inger Hagerup, Erik Fosnes Hansen, Kaj Skagen, Georg Johannesen, Arnold Eidslott and Håvard Rem. All music is composed by ''Øivind Varkøy'' for this album. An album is a collection of audio recordings issued on compact disc (CD), Phonograph record, vinyl, audio tape, or another medium such as Digital distribution#Music, digital distribution. Erik Fosnes Hansen
Erik Fosnes Hansen (born 6 June 1965) is a Norwegian writer. Hansen was born in New York and made his debut at age twenty with the novel ''Falketårnet''. His best-known work is his second novel, ''Psalm at Journey's End'', which in separate but steadily more interwoven stories follows the individual musicians who end their careers and lives on the ''Titanic''. The book has been translated into more than twenty languages. A sequel to ''Beretninger om beskyttelse'' (Tales of Protection) has been announced but is not yet completed. He has also published poetry and is a frequent contributor to contemporary public cultural discussions. Hansen is a member of the Norwegian Academy for Language and Literature. He was awarded the Riksmål Society Literature Prize in 1990. Hansen gained attention in the Norwegian press after throwing a piece of paper at a representative of the Progress Party during a heated debate on the radio station NRK P2. Jan Erik Kongshaug
Jan Erik Kongshaug (4 July 1944 – 5 November 2019) was a Norwegian sound engineer, jazz guitarist, and composer. Career Kongshaug was born in Trondheim, the son of guitarist John Kongshaug. Store Norske Leksikon (in Norwegian) During his childhood and adolescence, he began to play the accordion (1950), guitar (1958) and bass (1964). Kongshaug gained his examen artium in 1963, and trained in electronics at the Trondheim Technical School in 1967. Then he worked for the Arne Bendiksen Studio (1967–1974) and Talent Studio (1974–79) in Oslo, and undertook some jobs in New York. In 1984, he founded his own recording studio, Rainbow Studio in Oslo and evolved into being one of the grand masters of Sound engineering. Kjetil Saunes
Kjetil Saunes (born 22 October 1962 in Ulsteinvik, Norway) is a Norwegian musician (bass), composer and songwriter raised in, and still residing in, Oslo. He is known from a series of album releases and collaborations with musicians like Bjørn Eidsvåg, Ketil Bjørnstad, Kjetil Bjerkestrand, Eivind Aarset, Morten Harket and Unni Wilhelmsen. Career Saunes started his musical career as 19 years old, in a band including Kjetil Bjerkestrand, Anders Viken and Eivind Aarset. His main instrument is the bass. Per Hillestad
Per Hillestad (born 25 March 1959 in Øvre Årdal, Norway) is a Norwegian musician (drums) and record producer, known as drummer in Lava and was contributing in releases by a-ha, Vamp, Jonas Fjeld, Bjølsen Valsemølle and Marius Müller. Career Hillestad founded "supergroup" Lava in Årdal 1977, together with Kjell Hestetun, Stein Eriksen and Svein Dag Hauge. From 1980 Lava released a series of albums receiving very good reviews. They were awarded Spellemannsprisen in 1984 for the album ''Fire'', and has been nominated for the award several times. Kjetil Bjerkestrand (born 18 May 1955 in Kristiansund, Norway) is a Norwegian musician (keyboards), composer, arranger and record producer, known as music arranger for artists like Ray Charles, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Keith Emerson, Ian Hunter, Jon Lord, Ute Lemper and a-ha. Håvard Rem (born 7 February 1959, Oslo) is a Norwegian poet. Lyrics and poetry Rem made his book debut in 1977 with ''Kall på heltene'', a collection of poetry. Arnold Eidslott
Arnold Olav Eidslott (10 June 1926 – 19 April 2018) was a Norwegian poet. He was born in Ålesund, and worked as a telegraphic engineer for the whole of his working life. From 1986 to 2018 he was the poet laureate. Eidslott's Christian religion was central to his lyrics, and he was foremost in Norwegian religious literature. Georg Johannesen
Georg Johannesen (22 February 1931 – 24 December 2005) was a Norwegian author and professor at the University of Bergen. Background He was born in Bergen, Norway. He was the son of Knut Johan Johannesen (1900–1979) and Ingeborg Malene Olsdatter Skaalevik (1902–1981). Johannesen graduated artium at Bergen Cathedral School in 1949. He studied history, English and Norwegian at University of Oslo and took his master's degree in Literature History in 1960. He wrote his dissertation ''Vårmotivet hos Olaf Bull'' on the poetry of Olaf Bull (1883-1933). From 1960-63, he was a high school lecturer and 1964-69 a freelance author and writer. In 1969 he joined the University of Bergen as assistant teacher at the Nordic Institute. Inger Hagerup
Inger Hagerup (née Halsør; 12 April 1905, in Bergen – 6 February 1985, in Fredrikstad) was a Norwegian writer, playwright and poet. She is considered one of the greatest Norwegian poets of the 20th century. Life and career Inger Johanne Halsør was born in Bergen, Norway. Her father died when she was five years old. For several years, her family moved around, until they settled in Nordfjord and later in Volda. In 1931, she married Anders Askevold Hagerup (1904–1979), who was a teacher, translator and children's book author.
