Pochi And Nyaa
is a puzzle video game developed by Aiky (in behalf of Compile) and released by Taito at 2003 for the Neo Geo. It is one of the final video game titles developed for the platform, as well as the last Neo Geo titles developed by third-party companies. Bandai released a port for the PlayStation 2 at 2004, with several improvements and new characters. Gameplay The game has a pair of 7x12 grids, where the pieces (called Pochis or Nyaas) fall in pairs (similar to Puyo Puyo). It is operated with an 8-way lever and 3 buttons (left rotation, right rotation and "trigger"). Compile (company)
was a Japanese video game developer, most notable for having developed the ''Puyo Puyo'' series, a franchise derived from the ''Madō Monogatari'' series. On 6 November 2003, the company suffered from bankruptcy. As a result, key staff moved to Compile Heart, the company's spiritual successor, whereas shoot-'em-up staff moved to MileStone Inc. The Compile trademark is being used as a brand label by Compile Heart to promote merchandise and games based on Compile properties. As of 2010, Compile Heart entered into a licensing deal with D4 Enterprise to create new video games based on franchises from Compile properties. This agreement does not affect the rights to the ''Puyo Puyo'' series as Sega retains ownership of the property. In April 2016, Niitani started a new successor company to Compile, Compile Maru. Neo Geo Games
The Neo Geo is a video game platform developed and designed by SNK and supported from 1990 to 2004. It was released in three different iterations; a ROM cartridge-based arcade system board called the Multi Video System (MVS), a cartridge-based home video game console called the Advanced Entertainment System (AES), and a CD-ROM-based home console called the Neo Geo CD. Each system features similar hardware and runs the same library of games through different media formats. Most games were first released on the MVS then rereleased for the home consoles, however some never saw a home console release and eight games were released exclusively for the Neo Geo CD.
