Pleasant Valley Township is one of fourteen townships in Dodge County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 141 at the 2020 census. A 2021 estimate placed the township's population at 137. Like many rural areas, Pleasant Valley Township suffered greatly from the Great Depression. Most of the township's residents, at one time or another, have made their living from farming. Agriculture is still a significant component of the economy of Pleasant Valley Township. Geography Pleasant Valley Township is located in southwestern Dodge County along U.S. Route 20. Marshall County is a county in the U.S. state of South Dakota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 4,306. Its county seat is Britton. The county was created on May 2, 1885, and was named for Marshall Vincent, who homesteaded near Andover, South Dakota. Geography Marshall County lies on the north side of South Dakota. Its north boundary line abuts the south boundary line of the state of North Dakota. Its terrain consists of rolling hills, with numerous lakes and ponds in the SE portion. Its terrain slopes to the northeast, and its highest point is near its SE corner, at 2,034' (620m) ASL. Marshall County has a total area of , of which is land and (5.4%) is water. The county seat is Vermillion, which is also home to the University of South Dakota. Aurora County is a county in the U.S. state of South Dakota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 2,747. The county was created in 1879, and was organized in 1881. History Aurora County, named for Aurora, the Roman goddess of the dawn, was created by the Dakota Territory on 1 October 1879. It was organized on August 29, 1881, when three county commissioners were appointed. The county had been established from the combination of former counties Cragin and Wetmore, which had both been formed in 1873.
