Plan País Venezuela (English language, English: Plan for the Country) is a plan organized by Juan Guaidó and the National Assembly of Venezuela created to revitalize Venezuela's economy, petroleum industry, and social sectors. Origins Plan País Venezuela had been under elaboration for some time and was initially developed through a series of public and private meetings in the United States and Venezuela. Experts from all sectors were consulted, among them economist Ricardo Hausmann and politicians and diplomats including Leopoldo López, Julio Borges and Carlos Vecchio along with Guaidó. Guaidó has thanked his mentor Leopoldo López, stating that Leopoldo_López#Publications, López's book, ''Venezuela Energética'', had inspired the ''Plan País Venezuela'' project. José Guerra (economist)
José Ángel Guerra Brito (born 7 September 1956) is a Venezuelan economist, writer and politician who served as a deputy of the National Assembly of Venezuela from 2016 to 2021. He previously served as a professor of economics and politics and for his career at the Central Bank of Venezuela. Guerra also was an advisor to Henrique Capriles in his presidential campaigns of 2012 and 2013 and was Coordinator of the Economic Area of the Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD). Career He is an economist graduated from the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), with a Specialization in Economics from the Economics Institute of the University of Colorado and a Master's in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. An ongoing socioeconomic and political crisis began in Venezuela during the presidency of Hugo Chávez and has worsened during the presidency of successor Nicolás Maduro.
