Pirin National Park
Pirin National Park ( bg, Национален парк "Пирин"), originally named Vihren National Park, encompasses the larger part of the Pirin, Pirin Mountains in southwestern Bulgaria, spanning an area of . It is one of the three national parks in the country, the others being Rila National Park and Central Balkan National Park. The park was established in 1962 and its territory was expanded several times since then. Pirin National Park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983. The elevation varies from 950 m to 2,914 m at Vihren, Bulgaria's second highest summit and the Balkans' third. Pirin Glacier
Chavdar Peninsula ( bg, полуостров Чавдар, poluostrov Chavdar, ) is a 10-km wide peninsula projecting 13 km in northwest direction from Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula in Antarctica. It is bounded by Curtiss Bay to the northeast, Hughes Bay to the southwest and Gerlache Strait to the northwest. Its west extremity Cape Sterneck separates Danco Coast to the southwest and Davis Coast to the northeast. The interior of the peninsula is partly occupied by the westerly portion of Kaliva Range. Futbolen klub Pirin ( bg, Футболен клуб „Пирин“), also known as Pirin Blagoevgrad is a Bulgarian Football team, football club based in Blagoevgrad, which currently competes in the First Professional Football League (Bulgaria), First League, the top division of Bulgarian football. The club was founded in 2008, after a merger between two clubs from Blagoevgrad, Pirin 1922 and PFC Pirin Blagoevgrad. By an official court decision later that year, the club was announced as a historical successor of the club records of the former FC Pirin, founded in 1922. In 2011, following the bankruptcy of the entity, which represented the football club, Pirin's football department was merged once again with Perun Kresna, to eventually become OFC Pirin. The club's name is adopted from Pirin, a mountain range in southwestern Bulgaria. PFC Pirin Blagoevgrad was a Bulgarian professional football club based in Blagoevgrad. History Makedonska slava Club was founded in 1928 as Makedonska Slava (" Macedonian Glory"). In 1948 the club joined the newly established FD Julius Dermendzhiev and cease its independent existence. In 2000 Makedonska Slava was restored after unification with Granit Stara Kresna. In 2002–03 season was successful for the club, which finished 2nd, and won promotion to the A PFG for first time in the club's history. Pirin Blagoevgrad Several years later, under the hand of the new owner Nikolay Galchev, the football club renamed to Pirin 1922 in the 2004/05 season and returned again to top flight football for the next, 2005–06 season.
