Pontius Pilate (; grc-gre, Πόντιος Πιλᾶτος, ) was the fifth governor of the Roman province of Judaea, serving under Emperor Tiberius from 26/27 to 36/37 AD. He is best known for being the official who presided over the trial of Jesus and ultimately ordered his crucifixion. Pilate's importance in modern Christianity is underscored by his prominent place in both the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds. Due to the Gospels' portrayal of Pilate as reluctant to execute Jesus, the Ethiopian Church believes that Pilate became a Christian and venerates him as both a martyr and a saint, a belief which is historically shared by the Coptic Church. Although Pilate is the best-attested governor of Judaea, few sources regarding his rule have survived. Nothing is known about his life before he became governor of Judaea, and nothing is known about the circumstances that led to his appointment to the governorship. Based in Toronto, Ontario, the band consisted of vocalist and pianist Todd Clark, guitarist Chris Greenough, bassist Ruby Bumrah and drummer Bill Keeley. Clark was a graduate of the music program at the University of Western Ontario, while all of the other three members were alumni of OCAD University. They released their debut EP, '' For All That's Given, Wasted'', independently in 2001 before signing to MapleMusic Recordings, which released their full-length debut album '' Caught by the Window'' in 2003. Lago di Pilato (''Pilate lake'') is a glacial lake located in Sibylline Mountains, among Apennine. Description It is located in a narrow glacial valley beneath Mount Vector (2476 m) and Redeemer Peak (2448 m) summits. It is supposed to date back to the superior pleistocene. The lake takes its name from a legend in which Pontius Pilate was killed there and buried under lake bed as punishment for his role at passion of the Christ time. Geo-politically the lake is situated in Marche, and it is the sole natural lake of the region (excluding small shoreline lakes), the province is Ascoli Piceno, and is part of the Monti Sibillini National Park. Felton C. Pilate II (born November 5, 1952) is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer. He is best known as a member of the 1970s and 1980s funk- R&B band, Con Funk Shun. Pilate is also notable for the songs and albums he produced with MC Hammer. Early life and music career Pilate was born in Jackson, Mississippi (United States). His father, Felton Pilate Sr., was a naval physician. His mother, Benita Akines Pilate, was a music major and social worker. After many military assignments, the Pilate family’s last move would be a move to Vallejo, California. Pilates (; ) is a type of mind-body exercise developed in the early 20th century by German physical trainer Joseph Pilates, after whom it was named. Pilates called his method "Contrology". It is practiced worldwide, especially in countries such as Australia, Canada, South Korea, the United States and the United Kingdom. As of 2005, there were 11 million people practicing the discipline regularly and 14,000 instructors in the United States.
