	Pierre Thomas (American Football) Charles Pierre Thomas Jr. (born December 18, 1984) is a former American football running back. He played college football at Illinois. He was signed by the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2007. Thomas developed into an all-around threat as a runner, pass catcher, blocker, and special teams player. He led the Saints in rushing yards in 2008 and 2009 and again in 2013, when he also led all NFL running backs in receiving yards. He became known for his excellence in executing the screen pass; it was a screen pass on which he scored the Saints' first touchdown in their 31-17 win over Indianapolis in Super Bowl XLIV, two weeks after he had scored two touchdowns in the Saints' 2009 NFC Championship game victory. 	Pierre Thomas (journalist) Pierre Thomas is an American journalist. He serves as senior justice correspondent at ABC News. He has twice won an Emmy, as well as winning a Peabody Award and Dupont Award and been named “Journalist of the Year” by the National Association of Black Journalists. Early life Thomas graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1984. As a student, his curriculum included an internship with the university's radio station, WVTF, in nearby Roanoke, Virginia. Career Thomas began his career at The Roanoke Times and World-News. He moved to ''The Washington Post'' in 1987, where he worked for ten years and was mentored by Ben Bradlee. Thomas later moved to television with a job at CNN in 1997, where he worked as justice correspondent. Thomas joined ABC News in 2000. He was sent as a child to be educated to the Jansenists at Port-Royal des Champs. There he received his bent towards the life of a recluse, and even of a hermit, which drew him to establish himself in the neighborhood of Port-Royal des Champs. There he associated with Louis-Sébastien Le Nain de Tillemont, Antoine Singlin, Robert Arnauld d'Andilly and Antoine Le Maistre. In 1661 he came to Paris, and in 1666 was arrested along with Louis-Isaac Lemaistre de Sacy, and after a month in the Bastille was exiled to his estate of Fossé near Forges-les-Eaux.
