Pierre Bernard (Montfermeil Politician)
Chevalier Pierre Bernard (30 January 1934, Strasbourg) is a French politician, mayor of Montfermeil (various rights - ''divers droite'') from March 1983 to June 2002 and counsellor in the canton de Montfermeil from 1992 to 1998. He replaced Eric Raoult, who had been nominated as minister, as a deputy of Seine-Saint-Denis from 1995 to 1997. Pierre Bernard is the founder of the far-right NGO '' France Debout'', over which he presided until 2004. Paul Claude Marie Touvier (3 April 1915 – 17 July 1996) was a French Nazi collaborator during World War II in Occupied France. In 1994, he became the first Frenchman ever convicted of crimes against humanity, for his participation in the Holocaust under Vichy France. Early life Paul Claude Marie Touvier was born on 3 April 1915 in Saint-Vincent-sur-Jabron, Alpes de Haute-Provence, in southeastern France. His family was devoutly Roman Catholic, lower-middle-class and extremely conservative. He was one of 11 children, and the oldest of the five boys. The Gayssot Act or Gayssot Law (french: Loi Gayssot), enacted on 13 July 1990, makes it an offence in France to question the existence or size of the category of crimes against humanity as defined in the London Charter of 1945, on the basis of which Nazi leaders were convicted by the International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg in 1945–1946 (article 9).
