Philippines Men's National Under-19 Basketball Team
The men's national under-19 basketball team of the Philippines represents the country in junior men's under-18 and under-19 FIBA tournaments. It is governed by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas. The team has won 6 FIBA Asia Under-18 Championships making them second with the most wins in the tournament next to China. The team is also the perennial powerhouse at Southeast Asia, representing the subzone in the FIBA Asia Under-18 Championship, except in 2000, 2002 and 2006. Since 2008, they haven't lost any single game at the SEABA Under-18 Championship, winning their fourth straight title and seventh overall since the subzone organized the tournament in 1996. Samahang Basketbol Ng Pilipinas
The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas () or the SBP is the national sport association for basketball in the Philippines, formed from the merging of the Basketball Association of the Philippines (BAP) and Pilipinas Basketball (PB). It was formed in order to fix a long running feud in Philippine Basketball that resulted in FIBA suspending the country from participating in FIBA-sanctioned events. Both groups signed a joint communique during the FIBA Congress in Saitama, Japan in September 2006. Manuel V. Pangilinan, chairman of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company, and owner of the PBA teams TNT Tropang Giga, Meralco Bolts and NLEX Road Warriors was named as the first president of the organization on February 5, 2007, up until August 8, 2016. The 2019 FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup (Greek: Παγκόσμιο Κύπελλο Μπάσκετ FIBA Under-19 2019) was the 14th edition of the FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup, the biennial international men's youth basketball championship contested by the U19 national teams of the member associations of FIBA. The 1989 ABC Under-18 Championship was the tenth edition of the Asian Championship for Junior Men. The tournament took place in Manila, Philippines from January 24 to February 1, 1989. The 1986 ABC Under-18 Championship was the ninth edition of the Asian Basketball Confederation (ABC)'s Junior Championship. The games were held at Manila, Philippines from December 28, 1986, to January 4, 1987. Taiwan came to Seoul to participate the competition, but withdrew later due to the conflict about using the Chinese flag during the event.
