The Philippines men's national volleyball team represents Philippines in international volleyball competitions and friendly matches, governed by Philippine National Volleyball Federation since 2021. History The national team played as early as the 1910s playing at the 1913 Far Eastern Championship Games where the first international volleyball competition was played. The Philippine National Volleyball Federation Inc. (PNVF), also known as Volleyball Philippines, is the sports governing body, national sport association for volleyball in the Philippines. It is recognized by the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC), the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) and the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball, International Volleyball Federation (FIVB). History PVF–LVPI dispute Prior to the formation of the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF), the Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF) was recognized by the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) as the national sports association for volleyball in the Philippines. The PVF lost POC recognition in 2014 following a leadership crisis after PVF Vice-president Karl Chan assumed the presidency after PVF President Gener Dungo filed an indefinite leave of absence. 2021 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship
The 2021 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship was the twenty-first staging of the Asian Men's Volleyball Championship, a biennial international volleyball tournament organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Japan Volleyball Association (JVA). The tournament was held in Chiba and Funabashi, Japan from 12 to 19 September 2021. The top two teams of the tournament qualified for the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship as the AVC representatives. The 2019 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship was the twentieth staging of the Asian Men's Volleyball Championship, a biennial international volleyball tournament organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Islamic Republic of Iran Volleyball Federation (IRIVF). The 2017 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship was the nineteenth staging of the Asian Men's Volleyball Championship, the biennial international men's volleyball championship of Asia organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Indonesian Volleyball Federation (PBVSI). The tournament was held in Gresik, Indonesia from 24 July to 1 August 2017. Qualification The 16 AVC member associations submitted their men's national team to the 2017 Asian Championship.
