Philip E. Hoffman
Philip E. Hoffman (October 2, 1908 – June 6, 1993) was a lawyer, former national president of the American Jewish Committee (1969 to 1973; he was also chairman of its board of governors from 1963 to 1967) and an American Ambassador to the United Nations Human Rights Council from 1972 to 1975. Hoffman grew up on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, graduated in 1929 from Dartmouth College and from Yale Law School in 1932. The American Jewish Committee (AJC) is a Jewish advocacy group established on November 11, 1906. It is one of the oldest Jewish advocacy organizations and, according to ''The New York Times'', is "widely regarded as the dean of American Jewish organizations". Verona, New Jersey
Verona is a township in Essex County in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 14,572, an increase of 1,240 (+9.3%) from the 2010 census count of 13,332, which in turn reflected a decline of 201 (−1.5%) from the 13,533 counted in the 2000 census. History Verona and several neighboring towns were all originally one consolidated area known as the Horseneck Tract. In 1702, a group of settlers left Newark and purchased a large tract of land northwest of their home city for the equivalent of a few hundred dollars from the Lenni Lenape Native Americans. Livingston is a township in Essex County, New Jersey. As of the 2010 U.S. census, the township's population was 29,366, reflecting an increase of 1,975 (+7.2%) from the 27,391 counted in the 2000 Census. In 2019, the Population Estimates Program by the United States Census Bureau calculated that the township had a population of 30,303. Livingston was incorporated as a township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 5, 1813, from portions of Caldwell Township (now Fairfield Township) and Springfield Township (now in Union County).
