Phil Reynolds
Phil Reynolds is a British electronic dance music disc jockey and record producer. He is known for his "unique blend of harder house and trance". Career Reynolds has been a resident DJ at a number of London's harder dance club nights, including Frantic, Fevah, and Convergence, and has also been guest DJ at a wide range of nights including at Heaven and headlining at Turnmills and Brixton Academy. Reynolds mixed the first two ''Frantic - Future Sound of Hard Dance'' compilation albums, released in 2001 and 2002 respectively. The first was reported to have sold over 50,000 records, and the second peaked at #15 in the official UK compilation chart. Trance Music
Trance is a genre of electronic dance music that emerged from the British new-age music scene and the early 1990s German techno and hardcore scenes. Trance music is characterized by a tempo generally lying between 135–150 beats per minute (BPM), repeating melodic phrases and a musical form that distinctly builds tension and elements throughout a track often culminating in 1 to 2 "peaks" or "drops". Steve Blake (DJ)
Steve Blake is a London-based trance and hard house disc jockey and record producer. He has released a number of well-received records, and plays high-tempo bass-heavy DJ sets at BPM. Career Blake started as a disc jockey in in the London club scene, and from 1997 began to play hard house sets in underground clubs. He came to prominence with his 1999 release "Expression", on the Tidy Trax label. It achieved chart success, was widely played by club DJs at the time, and received critical praise with journalist Mark Kavanagh of Muzik magazine calling it a "classic". In 2002 Blake released the single "I Get A Rush", which peaked at #13 in the UK official dance chart, and has been featured on several dance music compilation albums including '' Extreme Euphoria'' mixed by Lisa Lashes, which reached #16 in the UK compilation album chart. Nick Fryer (born 1979 or 1980), better known as Nick Sentience, is a British electronic dance music disc jockey and hard dance music producer from Portsmouth, England. He is known for his fusion of music genres including techno, hard house, and trance. Several of his releases have charted in the United Kingdom. Career Nick Fryer grew up in Portsmouth, England, and began DJing at the age of 15. He was originally part of a music production group called Sentience with Martin Dawson and Tom Neville; the groups debut CD ''An Eye For An I'' was released on Nukleuz in 1998, with some tracks from the album eventually appearing in the video game '' Carmageddon II: Carpocalypse Now''. Brixton Academy
Brixton Academy (originally known as the Astoria Variety Cinema, previously known as Carling Academy Brixton, currently named O2 Academy Brixton as part of a sponsorship deal with the O2 brand) is a mid-sized concert venue located in South West London, in the Lambeth district of Brixton. Opening in 1929 as a cinema, the venue was converted into a discotheque in 1972, then reborn as a concert hall in 1983. It is owned by the Academy Music Group, and has become one of London's leading music venues, hosting over 50 live albums, and winning the NME Best Venue 12 times since 1994.
