Phantom (2002 Film)
''Phantom'' (theatrical release name: ''Phantom Pailey'') is a 2002 Malayalam action drama film directed by Biju Varkey. It stars Mammootty in the title role, and Manoj K. Jayan, Innocent, Nishanth Sagar, Nedumudi Venu and Lalu Alex in other pivotal roles. Plot Pailey has come from Irattupetta, a small village in rural Kerala to Mumbai with the hope of making it big in Bollywood as an actor. After many failed attempts, he becomes a stunt performer who becomes the stunt double for big stars. Due to his daredevil stunts he gets the name Phantom Pailey. One day while shooting a helicopter fight scene, he falls down and gets injured. Pailey understands that once a stuntman gets injured, his career ends, but he is made of different stuff. Dennis Joseph (20 October 1957 – 10 May 2021) was an Indian scriptwriter and director known for his work in Malayalam films. He was active during the 1980s and early 1990s. He frequently collaborated with directors Joshi (director), Joshi and Thambi Kannanthanam. Shweta Konnur Menon (born 19 July 1979), known by her stage name Malavika, is an Indian actress who predominantly appears in Tamil films and a few Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam films. Girish Puthenchery (1961–2010) was a noted Malayalam Lyricist, Poet, Scriptwriter and Screenwriter. He was always referred to as the aristocratic lyricist of Malayalam who had a distinctive writing style of his own. He also served as the director of Indian Performance Rights Society Malayalam division (I.P.R.S) and governing council member of the Kerala Kalamandalam and Kerala Lalithakala Academy.
