Peter Walsh (record Producer)
Peter Walsh (born 1960) is a British record producer and engineer. Walsh began his career as an engineer at London's Utopia Studios in the late 1970s, working with Stevie Wonder, The Tubes, Spandau Ballet and The Boomtown Rats amongst others. His breakthrough was as assistant producer on the 1981 debut album by Heaven 17, ''Penthouse and Pavement''. Following this success he went on to produce several artists among them Peter Gabriel, China Crisis, Gene Loves Jezebel and Simple Minds. In 1984, Walsh produced Scott Walker's album, '' Climate of Hunter''. Walsh has continued to work with Walker, producing and performing on his 1995 album ''Tilt'', the 2006 album ''The Drift'', the 2012 album ''Bish Bosch'', and the 2014 album '' Soused'', a collaboration between Walker and drone metal band Sunn O))). Sunn O))) (pronounced "sun") is an American experimental metal band formed in 1998 in Seattle, Washington. The band is known for their distinctive visual style and slow, heavy sound, which blends diverse genres including doom metal, drone, black metal, dark ambient, and noise rock, as well as for their loud live performances. ''Heyday'' is the fourth album by the Australian alternative rock band The Church, released in November 1985. The album marked the first occasion when group compositions dominated one of the band's releases. Steve Kilbey has said: "The demo situation was getting to us - me writing the songs on my eight-track and bringing them along to the band. It sounded too stiff. We'd reached this new energy level on stage which by far superseded anything we'd ever recorded, so we knew the only way to get sounding like that (on record) was for the whole band to write together." Kissing The Pink
Kissing the Pink are an English new wave and synth-pop band that formed in London in 1980. The current members are lead singer and guitarist Nick Whitecross, keyboardist Jon Kingsley Hall, second keyboardist George Stewart, and guitarist Simon Aldridge. Former members include saxophonist Josephine Wells, violinist Peter Barnett, drummer Stevie Cusack, and vocalist Sylvia Griffin. Career The band formed in 1980 at the Royal College of Music, located in South Kensington, London. Their debut single was "Don't Hide in the Shadows", recorded with producer Martin Hannett at Strawberry Studios in Stockport. Saga is a Canadian rock band from Oakville, Ontario. Bassist and keyboardist Jim Crichton and Welsh-born vocalist and keyboardist Michael Sadler were the principal songwriters. Silent Running are a Northern Ireland, Northern Irish rock music, rock band, who emerged from the Belfast punk rock, punk scene and were originally called The Setz, before changing musical direction in 1982. ''Plays Live'' is the first live and fifth album overall by English rock musician Peter Gabriel. His first not titled simply ''Peter Gabriel'', it was originally issued as a double album and long-play cassette in 1983, with sixteen songs. It was rereleased in 1985, as a single CD called ''Plays Live (Highlights)'' with only twelve songs, some of which are edited so the album fits on a single disc. It was rereleased in its entirety as a double CD set in 1987. In 2002, a remaster of the ''Highlights'' version was issued. ''Difficult Shapes & Passive Rhythms Some People Think It's Fun to Entertain'' is the debut studio album by English new wave band China Crisis, released on 12 November 1982 by Virgin Records. It spent 17 weeks on the UK Albums Chart and peaked at number 21 in February 1983. Recording The album was recorded during a long period of time in different studios with different producers. Half the album that eventually made up side two on the album was recorded on an eight-track studio in Liverpool before China Crisis had signed a recording contract with Virgin Records. "African and White" was produced by Jeremy Lewis. The other half of the album that made up side one was produced by Steve Levine (two tracks) and Peter Walsh (three tracks).
