Peter Sekulic
Peter Sekulic (born 1962) is a Canadian former politician in the province of Alberta. Sekulic was born in Croatia in 1962 and immigrated with his parents and a sibling to Canada in 1967. He was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta in the 1993 Alberta general election. Peter defeated former Edmonton Belmont incumbent New Democrat Tom Sigurdson to pick up the new district of Edmonton Manning for the Alberta Liberal Party. Sekulic served a single term in the legislature, he was the Deputy Native Affairs Critic for the Liberal opposition. Lovinac is a municipality in Lika-Senj County, Croatia. Geography The village of Lovinac is located 35 kilometers from Gospić to the southeast of the greatest Croatian karst field, Licko polje. Edmonton Manning is a federal electoral district in Alberta, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 2015. Edmonton Manning was created by the 2012 federal electoral boundaries redistribution and was legally defined in the 2013 representation order. It came into effect upon the call of the 42nd Canadian federal election, which took place on October 19, 2015. The 1993 Alberta general election was held on June 15, 1993, to elect members of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. The Conservative government was re-elected, taking 51 seats out of 83 (61 percent of the seats) but only having support of 45 percent of voters. It is notable because it was seen by some as a contest between the former mayors of Calgary and Edmonton, Ralph Klein and Laurence Decore, respectively. The Alberta New Democratic Party (french: Nouveau Parti démocratique de l'Alberta), commonly shortened to Alberta's NDP, is a social-democratic political party in Alberta, Canada. Tom Sigurdson
Thomas Sigurdson (born March 7, 1957) is a former Canadian provincial level politician. He served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1986 to 1993. He is a labour activist and organizer for the New Democratic Party in British Columbia. He is currently the executive director for the British Columbia and Yukon Territory Building and Construction Trades Council. Political career Sigurdson was elected (re-elected) 1986 Alberta general election as a NDP candidate in the electoral district of Edmonton-Belmont. He defeated incumbent Progressive Conservative MLA Walter Szwender by a comfortable plurality.
