Peter O'Sullivan (Australian Footballer)
Peter Daniel O'Sullivan (22 May 1932 – 23 September 1972) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Essendon and North Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1950s. Football O'Sullivan, who was a good performer for Ascot Youth Centre in the Essendon District League before joining the VFL, played his football on the wing and as a half-forward flanker. After making 12 appearances in his debut season with Essendon, O'Sullivan played 19 games in 1953, including a semi final. Over the next two seasons O'Sullivan found in more difficult to establish a place for himself in the side. In 1956 joined Charlie Gaudion's North Melbourne. He spent three years at North Melbourne, including the 1957 season in the reserves when North Melbourne 14.13 (97) defeated Fitzroy 13.15 (93) in the grand final—O'Sullivan, who kicked 4 goals, was best on the ground. Peter O'Sullivan (hurler)
Peter O'Sullivan (born 1943) is an Irish retired hurler who played as a goalkeeper for the Tipperary senior team. O'Sullivan joined the team as substitute goalkeeper during the 1963 championship, and took over as first-choice goalkeeper at the end of the decade. He retained that position until his retirement after the 1972 championship. During that time he won one All-Ireland medal and one Munster medal. At club level O'Sullivan enjoyed a lengthy career with Cashel King Cormacs GAA. Playing career Club O'Sullivan played his club hurling with his local Cashel club. Inter-county O'Sullivan first came to prominence on the inter-county scene as a member of the Tipperary minor hurling team in the early 1960s. He won a Munster title in this grade in 1961, following a 7-11 to 1-6 trouncing of fierce rivals Cork. Tipp subsequently lined out against Kilkenny in the All-Ireland minor decider. Peter O'Sullevan
Sir Peter O'Sullevan (3 March 1918 – 29 July 2015) was an Irish-British horse racing commentator for the BBC, and a correspondent for the Press Association, the ''Daily Express'', and ''Today''. He was the BBC's leading horse racing commentator from 1947 to 1997, during which time he described some of the greatest moments in the history of the Grand National. Early life The son of Colonel John Joseph O'Sullevan , resident magistrate at Killarney, and Vera (''née'' Henry), Peter O'Sullevan was born in Newcastle, County Down before returning as an infant to his parents' home at Kenmare, County Kerry; he was brought up in Surrey, England.
