Peter Graham (composer)
Peter Graham (born 1958) is a prolific British composer for brass band. Graham was born in Lanarkshire, Scotland. He studied at the University of Edinburgh and then undertook postgraduate studies with Edward Gregson at Goldsmiths College, University of London. He holds a PhD in composition. From 1983 until 1986, he lived in New York City, where he worked as a freelance composer/arranger and as a publications editor with the S.A. Music Bureau. Since his return to the U.K., he has worked regularly as an arranger for BBC Television and Radio and has specialised in composition for brass band. Since the publication of ''Dimensions'' (1983), he has carved out a niche as an outstanding arranger for brass bands, and a leading figure amongst contemporary band composers. Peter Benjamin Graham (4 June 1925 – 15 April 1987), was an Australian visual artist, printer, and art theorist. In 1954, Graham began to explore native Australian wildlife (notably Kangaroos) and themes associated with Aboriginal culture, using the visual languages of European figurative Modernism and, later, geometric abstraction. He began developing a new form of visual geometry related to Chaos Theory from 1960, eventually called Thematic Orchestration. The new visual language enabled the 2D deconstruction and synthesis of an observed subject, in a way fundamentally different from traditional abstraction. Thematic Orchestration allows the artist to 'grow' an image, producing almost infinite conscious invention. Peter Sebastian Graham is a contemporary Australian artist, painter, printmaker and sculptor. He was born in 1970 in Sydney, New South Wales. He moved with his family in 1983 to Melbourne, Victoria, where he currently lives and works. Early life and influences Graham decided to become an artist from a very young age. His career was strongly influenced by his parents – Carolyn Graham, a self-taught printmaker and his father, Bob Graham, a well-known children’s picture book author and illustrator. Peter John Graham (8 December 1939 – 6 July 2020) was a British writer, restaurant critic, translator and filmmaker based in France. He was the author of several books about film and about food, including ''A Dictionary of the Cinema'' (1964), ''The French New Wave'' (1968) and ''Mourjou: The Life and Food of an Auvergne Village'' (1998), which recounted the culinary life of the remote French village in which he lived for more than four decades. Peter Graham (July 16, 1821 – July 19, 1900) was an Ontario farmer and political figure. He represented Lambton East in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as a Liberal member from 1875 to 1890. Peter Arthur Onslow Graham (27 December 1920 – 2 March 2000) played first-class cricket for Somerset in six matches in 1948. He was born at Kurseong, Darjeeling, India and died on the island of Jersey. The son of a Darjeeling tea-planter and educated at Tonbridge School, Graham was a lower-order right-handed batsman and a right-arm bowler: his CricketArchive profile rates him as "fast", but the report in Wisden Cricketers' Almanack of his first first-class match in 1948 reads: "Graham, from Burnham-on-Sea, bowled well at medium-pace". In fact, that first game, a first-class friendly match between Glamorgan and Somerset at Rodney Parade, Newport, was Graham's most successful: he took four wickets in the match, including three for 47 in the Glamorgan first innings, and scored 33 at the end of Somerset's second innings. Peter Graham (born 19 April 1947) is an English former professional footballer who scored 91 goals from 340 games in the English Football League playing as a forward for Barnsley, Halifax Town, Darlington, Lincoln City and Cambridge United. Career Graham was born in Worsbrough Common, Barnsley. He was an apprentice plumber playing part-time football for Worsbrough Bridge Athletic before signing a professional contract with Barnsley F.C. He spent four years at Barnsley, playing only infrequently, and after a month on loan to Halifax Town he joined Darlington. After three seasons, during which he scored 43 goals from 116 League appearances, Graham signed for Lincoln City for a fee of £12,500 in September 1973. Peter Graham (born 5 August 1975) is an Australian karateka, kickboxer, boxer and mixed martial artist. Background Originally from North Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, Graham began training in Kyokushin Karate at the age of 18. Graham quickly demonstrated his talents, winning his first tournament in an under yellow belt division about half a year later. In 1999 at the age of 23, Graham won the Amateur Australian and New Zealand Open Weight Championships and soon also became the South Pacific Champion. Graham then moved to Ikebukuro in Tokyo, Japan to further hone his skills and live in a dojo.
