Peter Donaldson
Peter Ian Donaldson (23 August 1945 – 2 November 2015) was an English newsreader on BBC Radio 4. Early life Donaldson was born in Cairo, Egypt, and moved to Cyprus in 1952 at the time of the overthrow of King Farouk. He was a frequent listener to the BBC World Service and the British Forces Broadcasting Service (BFBS). On his return to Britain, Donaldson was educated at Woolverstone Hall School, a state boarding school in Suffolk, from the age of 14. He left after taking O-levels at 16 and joined Sadler's Wells London in a backstage role. After working with the New Shakespeare Company at the Open Air Theatre in Regent's Park London, and appearing on stage at the Aldwych Theatre London with the Royal Shakespeare Company, he went to Sri Lanka to work on a film. In 1968 his father, who was still living in Cyprus, heard about an on-air vacancy for announcers with BFBS and Donaldson applied. Pete Donaldson
Peter Donaldson (born 30 April 1981) is an English podcaster and radio presenter. He featured on the Danny Wallace Saturday show on Xfm, and the Alex Zane breakfast show and is currently one of the presenters on The Football Ramble, Wrestle Me and The Luke and Pete Show podcasts. Donaldson has cohosted the Abroad in Japan podcast with Chris Broad since 2018. Career Donaldson moved to London in 2003 after studying Multimedia Media Design at University. After working as a graphic designer for three years, he gained work experience, and in turn full employment, on ''The Lauren Laverne Breakfast Show'' in 2006. He later worked as co-presenter of the ''Alex Zane Breakfast Show'' - also on Xfm. As a radio producer, Donaldson produced shows for the likes of Adam and Joe and Danny Wallace. Peter Donaldson (actor)
Peter Thomas Donaldson (29 October 1953 – 8 January 2011) was a Canadian actor. Donaldson was the son of Betty and Norman Donaldson, and was born and raised in Midland, Ontario. While attending Midland Secondary School, he performed in Brigadoon and an abridged version of ''Romeo and Juliet''; his drama teacher did not spot Donaldson's acting potential at the time. He attended plays at the Stratford Festival during his youth, which fired his enthusiasm for acting. Donaldson attended Trent University and graduated from the University of Guelph. He also later studied with Uta Hagen, Stella Adler and Olympia Dukakis in New York. He began his acting career in 1975 with a summer stock company formed with fellow Guelph students that played Muskoka resorts. Peter Donaldson (economist)
Peter Donaldson (27 October 1934 – 6 September 2002) was a British economist, academic, author, and radio and television broadcaster. Academic career Born in Eccles, Lancashire, Donaldson's family moved to Gillingham, Kent, when he was only 18 months old. Following education at the local grammar school he gained a scholarship to read philosophy, politics and economics at Balliol College, Oxford. In 1957 he became a junior lecturer at the University of Leeds, before moving to the University of Leicester in 1960. In 1964 he took up a position at Osmania University in Hyderabad, India, where he stayed until 1967, except for a six-month stint back in the United Kingdom at Ruskin College in 1965. On completing his term in Hyderabad he returned to Ruskin College full-time and remained on staff there until his retirement in the early 1990s.
