Peter Clark (born 10 December 1979) is an English retired professional association football, footballer who made over 150 league appearances as a Defender (association football), defender. Career Born in Romford, Clark began his career as an apprentice at Arsenal F.C., Arsenal, but he never made a league appearance for the Gunners. He signed for Carlisle United F.C., Carlisle United in 1998, making 79 league appearances. He appeared in the famous Jimmy Glass game against Plymouth Argyle F.C., Plymouth Argyle, in which the goalkeeper scored in the 94th minute to keep Carlisle United F.C., Carlisle United in the Football League. He then signed for Stockport County F.C., Stockport County, where he made 72 league appearances. Peter Clark (historian)
Peter Alan Clark (born 24 May 1944) is a British historian. Since 2000, he was professor of European urban history at the University of Helsinki. He retired in 2011. Clark was educated at Balliol College, Oxford and graduated (Modern History first class) in 1966. He started his career as a research fellow at Magdalen College, Oxford. He was then lecturer, reader and later professor of economic and social history at the University of Leicester. From 1985 to 1999, he was the first director of the Centre for Urban History of the University of Leicester. In 1989, he was co-founder (with Bernard Lepetit and Herman Diederiks) of the European Association for Urban History and served as its treasurer from 1989 to 2010. International Prize For Arabic Fiction
The International Prize for Arabic Fiction (IPAF) ( ar, الجائزة العالمية للرواية العربية) is the most prestigious and important literary prize in the Arab world. Its aim is to reward excellence in contemporary Arabic creative writing and to encourage the readership of high quality Arabic literature internationally through the translation and publication of winning and shortlisted novels in other major languages. In addition to the prize itself, IPAF supports other literary initiatives. In 2009, IPAF launched its inaugural Nadwa (writers’ workshop) for emerging writers of fiction in Arabic. The prize is administered by the Booker Prize Foundation in London, and is currently funded by Department of Culture and Tourism, Abu Dhabi (DCT).
