Béla Perényi
Béla Perényi (October 20, 1953 – November 13, 1988) was a Hungarian chess international master known for his work in opening theory. Two major lines in the Najdorf Sicilian are named after him. He died in a car crash in 1988, while on the way to visit his fiancée, Ildikó Mádl. Perenyi attack The "Perenyi attack" (1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 Nf6 5. Nc3 a6 6. Eleanor Perenyi
Eleanor Spencer Stone Perényi (January 4, 1918 – May 3, 2009) was a gardener and author. She wrote several books including ''Green Thoughts'', a collection of essays based on her own gardening experiences. Biography Eleanor Perenyi was the daughter of a US Navy officer, Ellis S. Stone and Grace Zaring Stone. Grace Zaring Stone wrote her anti-Nazi novel ''Escape'' under the pseudonym Ethel Vance, for fear of jeopardizing the safety of her daughter, who was then living with her husband, the son of the Hungarian noble Baron Zsigmond Perényi, in pro-Fascist Hungary, then to be an ally of the Axis powers during World War II. Works Perenyi is best known as the author of ''Green Thoughts: A Writer in the Garden'', which drew on her work on her husband's rural estate near the present-day town of Vynohradiv, Ukraine (the former Nagyszőlős, Hungary). Péter Perényi
Péter Perényi de Nagyida (died around 1423), son of Simon of the Perényi branch of the Šubić clan, was the head (or ''ispán'') of Temes County from the end of the 14th century into the start of the 15th century. He also commanded Golubac fortress in 1391. He served as judge royal between 1415 and 1423. He married twice, first to Julianna N., with whom he had two sons, Simon and János, and second to Anna Széchy de Felsõlendva (now Grad, Slovenia), who gave him another son, Miklós. Miklós Perényi
Miklós Perényi (born 5 January 1948) is a Hungarian cellist. He was born in Budapest into a musical family and studied at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest with Ede Banda and Enrico Mainardi. He continued his studies at the Accademia Santa Cecilia, graduating in 1962. In 1963 he won a prize at the Pablo Casals International Violoncello Competition in Budapest. In 1965 and 1966 he studied with Pablo Casals in Zermatt and Puerto Rico and afterward performed at Marlboro Festival for four consecutive years. In 1974 he became a lecturer and in 1980 a professor at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music, but while teaching continued to perform internationally.
