People's Heroes Of Yugoslavia Monuments

Many busts and memorials were built in honor of each People's hero. Each of them usually had a bust in his birthplace or at the place of his death. Order Of The People's Hero
The Order of the People's Hero or the Order of the National Hero ( sh-Latn-Cyrl, separator=" / ", Orden narodnog heroja, Oрден народног хероја; sl, Red narodnega heroja, mk, Oрден на народен херој, Orden na naroden heroj), was a Yugoslav gallantry medal, the second highest military award, and third overall Yugoslav decoration.Orders and Decorations of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, 1945-90 by Lukasz Gaszewski 2000, 2003 It was awarded to individuals, military units, political and other organisations who distinguished themselves by extraordinary heroic deeds during war and in peacetime. Ivo Lola Ribar
Ivan Ribar (23 April 1916 – 27 November 1943), known as Ivo Lola or Ivo Lolo, was a Yugoslav communist politician and military leader of Croatian descent. In the 1930s, he became one of the closest associates of Josip Broz Tito, leader of the Yugoslav Communist Party. In 1936, Ribar became secretary of the Central Committee of SKOJ (Young Communist League of Yugoslavia). During World War II in Yugoslavia, Ribar was among the main leaders of the Yugoslav Partisans and was a member of the Partisan Supreme Headquarters. During the war, he founded and ran several leftist youth magazines. In 1942, Ribar was among the founders of the Unified League of Anti-Fascist Youth of Yugoslavia (USAOJ). He was killed by a German bomb in 1943 near Glamoč while boarding an airplane for Cairo, where he was to become the first representative of Communist Yugoslavia to the Middle East Command. Glamoč Field
Glamoč ( sr-cyrl, Гламоч) is a town and municipality located in Canton 10 of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is situated in southwestern Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the foothills of Staretina and Velika Golija mountains, and on the edge of the central part of the Glamoč Field. The municipality encompasses the town of Glamoč as a seat of the municipality and more than 50 villages and hamlets situated along the Field. It mainly covers an area of the historical and geographical region of Tropolje. Name During the Ottoman era the town was recorded as Biograd (White town), Belgradčik and Biogradaz. Geography Climate The climate of Glamoč is classified as an oceanic climate (''Cfb'' in Köppen climate classification system), near the boundary of the humid continental climate. One of the largest concentrations of People's heroes' busts is in the Park of People's heroes in Banja Luka, which contains 21 busts. Large number of People's heroes' busts and monuments in Dalmatia, Slavonia and central Croatia were removed from public places or destroyed during the 1990s as a part of revisionism process. However, monuments of People's heroes are mostly intact in Istria, Hrvatsko Primorje and Hrvatsko Zagorje.
