People's Committee To Protect Ukraine
The People's Committee to Protect Ukraine ( uk, Народний комітет захисту України) was a political movement in Ukraine formed May 2010. The committee intended to hold a mass protest political campaign, campaign in Ukraine against the policies of Ukrainian President, President Viktor Yanukovych, who ultimately fled amid violence in 2014. 2010 Ukrainian Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held in Ukraine on 17 January 2010. As no candidate received a majority of the vote, a run-off election was held between Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and opposition leader Viktor Yanukovych on 7 February. On 14 February Yanukovych was declared President-elect and winner with 48.95% of the popular vote. Viktor Yushchenko
Viktor Andriyovych Yushchenko ( uk, Віктор Андрійович Ющенко, ; born 23 February 1954) is a Ukrainian politician who was the third president of Ukraine from 23 January 2005 to 25 February 2010. As an informal leader of the Ukrainian opposition coalition, he was one of the two main candidates in the 2004 Ukrainian presidential election. Yushchenko won the presidency through a repeat runoff election between him and Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych. The Ukrainian Supreme Court called for the runoff election to be repeated because of widespread electoral fraud in favor of Yanukovych in the original vote. Yushchenko won in the revote (52% to 44%). Levko Hryhorovych Lukianenko ( uk, Левко́ Григо́рович Лук'я́ненко; 24 August 1928 – 7 July 2018) was a Ukrainian politician, Soviet dissident, and Hero of Ukraine. He was one of the founders of Ukrainian Helsinki Group in 1976 and was elected a leader of the revived Ukrainian Helsinki Group, the Ukrainian Helsinki Association, in 1988. Borys Ivanovych Tarasyuk ( uk, Борис Іванович Тарасюк; born 1 January 1949) is a Ukrainian politician who twice served as the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and a former MP who is since December 2019 Ukraine's permanent representative to the Council of Europe. Biography Dmytro Pavlychko was born on September 28, 1929 in a lumber worker family living in the village of Stopchatove near the Carpathian Mountains. Today this place is near town of Yabluniv in Kosiv Raion, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast.
