Penny's Bay
Penny's Bay or Chok Ko Wan () was a bay in north-eastern Lantau Island, and had been a port since the Ming dynasty. The bay has since been reclaimed and is the site of the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, which consists of the Hong Kong Disneyland theme park, Disneyland Hotel, and Disney's Hollywood Hotel, and the Inspiration Lake. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it became home to Penny's Bay Quarantine Centre. It is connected by a highway and a rail connection on the MTR Disneyland Resort line to Sunny Bay station. Penny's Bay is located in Tsuen Wan District, but a small southern portion falls in Islands District. Dioxin contamination Before the reclamation of the bay, Cheoy Lee Shipyard operated in the bay from 1964 to April 2001. Disneyland is a theme park in Anaheim, California. Opened in 1955, it was the first theme park opened by The Walt Disney Company and the only one designed and constructed under the direct supervision of Walt Disney. Pa Tau Kwu () is an area of Tsing Chau Tsai Peninsula, on Lantau Island in Hong Kong and the site of a former village. Administratively, it is part of Tsuen Wan District. Penny's Bay Power Station
Penny's Bay Power Station () is a gas turbine power station in Penny's Bay, Hong Kong. The HKD 1.1 billion power station was commissioned on 25 March 1992. The complex consists of three open cycle gas turbines in a rectangular turbine hall with three smokestacks. The turbines were supplied by John Brown Engineering and generators by GEC-Alsthom. It is operated by CLP Power as a standby and peaking power station. The power plant can start up in 12 minutes. Its primary fuel is ultra low sulphur diesel (ULSD). It is located at Penny's Bay on Lantau Island and its nameplate capacity is 300 MW. The plant serves as a backup facility providing quick start support to CLP Power's generating system. Tsing Chau Tsai Peninsula
Tsing Chau Tsai Peninsula () is the peninsula located at the northeast of Lantau Island, New Territories, Hong Kong, including Yam O, To Kau Wan, Tai Tsing Chau, Tsing Chau Tsai and Penny's Bay. Administration Tsing Chau Tsai Peninsula administratively belongs to Tsuen Wan District, while the remaining areas of Lantau Island belong to Islands District. Tsing Yi, sometimes referred to as Tsing Yi Island, is an island in the urban area of Hong Kong, to the northwest of Hong Kong Island and south of Tsuen Wan. To Kau Wan
To Kau Wan () is a bay on the north shore of northeast Lantau Island, Hong Kong. Contaminated soil from Penny's Bay was transferred here for thermal desorption to separate the Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) and Semi-Volatile Organic Compounds ( SVOC) along with cement immobilization of metal contamination from Penny's Bay.
